Haven’t even gone yet – serious misgivings

    rating13 Oct 2024

So to be honest, my stay has not even started yet, but I want to encourage all who are considering this place to call first and find out what is open, closed, being renovated, not well-staffed, etc.I booked on a whim and then read some negative reviews on this site that sent up red flags. I know, I know; I did things backwards there. So this morning, I called to confirm that some of the things I was hoping to do were going to be available. (For example, outdoor cold baths, outdoor sauna & Jacuzzi). The girl at the front desk said that in fact, no, most of the things I was hoping to use are not available. They are closed or the area is under construction. There is an indoor sauna and Hamam. Given that it is fall, and the air is crisp and the colours beautiful, I was planning for an outdoor thermal experience, as all of their pictures online indicate they have. They have an indoor pool that is “fairly cool” and they think that is a good enough substitute for the cold pools. What about people who like to swim in a warm indoor pool? 🤔As well, the bistro has no lunch service. Probably due to a lack of help, which is so common everywhere these days. They refused to let me cancel because I am within 48 hours. Decent customer service would dictate that if you do not have all of the features that you advertise and someone calls you concerned about that before their stay begins, you should make an exception and allow the customer to cancel that reservation. I am now headed there tomorrow with great trepidation, and a bit of regret before the stay even begins. I hope I can help someone else by suggesting you call first. It is so disappointing when you walk into a hotel to check in and then hear the list of things that happen to be under renovation or temporarily closed, unfortunately. And they deliver this news with a sad little smile yet charge you for the full amount of your stay anyway.

    Very disappointed, Bad service.

    rating05 Aug 2024

Itsss my 3rd visit . First two were very good and thats why this time i reserved 4 rooms for 2 nights since i brought friends with me . I did the reservation 2 month earlier . 1 week before i got there , i called twice and asked for few thongs to confirm , and the staff assured me that everything will be as requested. The day i arrived everything ws wrong ,starting the reservation ith wrong floor and rooms and i had to fight for it . 2 rooms were not cleaned well and smelly . Whenever you ask for something , the answer will be ( we don't have Enough staff ), swimming e pools were dirty, and ended with a fight with house keeping manager who was very rude . Unfortunately, even the lady manager didn't help also . One thing for sure , i can't risk to invite anyone there again , not to mention spending a a great amount of money with no professional service to attend. I like the property and the view there a lot , but this time it was a trip to forget . It seems they don't care if they lose a customer who visited 3 times in the last 4 years ..Too bad ..

    Lovely stay

    rating22 Jul 2023

We had a lovely experience. There are many activities to do around the resort and Customer service is great. Beautiful scenery all around. Rooms are a bit old they can benefit from some reno work. Also the network coverage was non existent in the room, no idea why. It would've been nice if there was a little coffee shop inside the hotel. But all in all it was a great place to stay.

    Losing luster

    rating29 Apr 2023

I have been going to the Manoir for over 10 years. This might be my last time.Since the pandemic, their service has changed. Although most of the staff is friendly and hard-working, it’s not to par. Everything we ask for seems complex, or even impossible until we negociate it properly. Birgit Fleury, Directeur général at Le Manoir du Lac Delage, responded to this review Sorry about your bad experience. Let me follow up with the service and the rest of our team, thank you again for your feedback as they help up in providing an impeccable service.I look forward to have the pleasure to welcoming you back.

    Great family vacation!

    rating13 Mar 2023

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It had so much to offer. We loved the 3 outdoor hot tubs, and the cold pool outside to get that Nordic spa experience. It had a warm, good size indoor pool and another hot tub indoors. There are two sauna options, steam or dry. It was nice that all of this was included with your stay. The game room area was a great addition with a bouncy castle for the kids and room to play. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean with a nice balcony overlooking the lake/mountains. Some reviews complained that the bathroom was outdated but I personally loved the charm of it. It is only a 25 minute drive to Valcartier. There are food options just 10 minutes down the road. Some negatives: no skating anymore but there was an area for road hockey. We found the restaurant too fancy and overpriced for our family with young kids. Would love to return here in the future! Birgit Fleury, Directeur général at Le Manoir du Lac Delage, responded to this review Thank you kindly for sharing your review with us following your stay at the Manoir du Lac Delage. I am delighted to read that you had a pleasant stay here and that you enjoyed our location, and our facilities.
