    5 star - location, rooms (kings), bathrooms. Friendly staff. 4 star food and service in the restaurant (which in my opinion is great for a hotel).3 star: Common areas a bit shabby. Limited food choices.An inconsistent policy on supplying tea/coffee in the restaurant - sometimes they would give it away, sometimes they would give it away if you used a throw away cup but want to charge if you wanted a proper cup. Then I was charged $3++ for tea in my own cup. Inconsistent response about room cleaning. Firstly, they come in daily to empty the bins and give clean towels. But they left dirty towels on the floor. Also personally I couldn't go into a room and leave the bed untidy - just can't do it, 15 seconds is all it takes to make it a bit tidy. If I didn't do that I certainly wouldn't leave a little envelope with my name on it expecting a tip. Finally, on the 2nd day I asked at reception about the bed making and they said they do it on the 3rd day. On the 3rd day they didn't do it. We stayed 5 nights and they never made the beds or did proper tidying/cleaning.

    Everything was perfect from the warm welcoming front lobby area to the excellent bedding, spotless room, great shower. All so modern and up to date. Every staff member we interacted with was charming knowledgeable and professional..we did not use the pool but it looked inviting..our dinner was also quite good..the outdoor rinks and fireplace also appreciated..we were there to ski though. Just a great hidden gem of a resort.

    The grounds are quite nice. I had only been to the ski hill during winter seasons in the past so I was looking by forward to this stay even though it was off season but the service was meh…. We got there at 5 pm which with the time change is now dark. We rented one of the condo rooms which is separate from the main lodge. There was no lighting , we had hard time finding the right building and room. The food at restaurant was ok. The waitstaff seemed to be training and getting this together.

    Calabogie Fall Colours

    We took the chairlift ride for the fall colours. The location is great. The colours were lovely. The organization of the event was lacking. Getting to the top of the hill on the chairlift was great and the views at the top were lovely. However, because of various reasons, we couldn't walk back down the hill (a 30-45 minute hike), we had to wait to go back down the hill on the chairlift. The wait was 110 minutes. While every chair was filled on the way up the hill, one in every 5 chairs was used for the trip down (which I understand is a safety issue). There were no facilities of any kind at the top of the hill - no washrooms, no seats, no water - nothing. Standing in line for 110 minutes spoiled the entire experience. A better system for the trip down is needed. I would not do this again.

    Wedding weekend

    Our daughter and our now son-in-law had a wedding weekend this past weekend at this resort . Everything was absolutely fantastic. The rooms and hotel are modern and newly renovated. We really enjoyed the beachfront, use of equipment and golf course. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Everyone enjoyed the wedding dinner, service and venue. I would highly recommend using this facility as a place for a wedding and plan to go back in the future to ski and explore the numerous trails in the area.
