  I stayed for almost a week at the Hilton Garden Inn St. John's while on a business trip.My room was on the 12th floor and a harbor view. For the modest $ for harbor view, I think it was totally worth it.It was so cool to see the various huge working ships in the harbor and on clear days I could see all the way to Signal Hill.Reception was efficient and I appreciate the digital key, however you will need a physical key for the parking in/out access.I loved the room + Extremely quiet. I didn't hear anyone else, not even from the hallways and I noticed a brush sweep seal on the hallway door and its these attention to details items that really stand out.+ Great bed and linen quality+ Laminate hardwood flooring+ Super clean+ Huge (genuine high def) TV with streaming services you use with your own login+ HVAC system was strong and efficient. The little text on the panel is a bit challenging to see. I saw another reviewer giving negative comments on the loudness of the HVAC. It didn't bother me as I like the "white noise" effect at night and you can turn the HVAC down or off.+ Alarm clock, plenty of USB outlets, good lighting, a comfortable lounge chair+ A proper adjustable work chair on wheels+ Microwave, fridge, coffee maker+ A nice little alcove near the entrance with drawers and clothes storage+ Iron/ironing board+ Eco friendly dispensers in the bathroom+ Towels in bathroom like newNot note: no room safeThe gym was well equipped and a decent sizeI did not use the pool but it looked in great shapeI had dinner at the onsite restaurant one night and it was very good (portion sizes big)There is a mini convenience store in the lobbyIt was a 10 minute walk to the start of the restaurant zone on Water street.One of the 2 elevators was out of commission on my stay but I never had to wait long.My only suggestion for improvement;- During my stay, there was very little staff engagement from the 2 front desks.Even if the lobby was empty and I walked by, no one ever initiated a "hello".....although If I initiated, they were friendly.

  Good Stay, but Door Lock Issue Needs Attention

  My stay was good overall. However, on the second day, my door fob suddenly stopped working and I wasn’t able to get into my room. I called the staff around 9 p.m., but they also couldn’t get it to work. They mentioned that the battery in the lock mechanism seemed low, and since it was late, there was no technician available to fix it. They let me in using a manual key and told me a technician would come at 8 a.m. the next morning.Unfortunately, no one arrived by 8:15 a.m., and because I needed the manual key to leave and re-enter the room, I had to skip my morning gym plans. The lock was finally fixed later that evening when I returned around 9 p.m.My recommendation to management is to implement a process to check and replace door lock batteries before they fail—perhaps by tracking installation and replacement dates. This would help prevent similar inconveniences for future guests.

  I just stayed 8 nights at this hotel and it was a 10 STAR EXPERIENCE! Spotless clean, great amenities, really enjoyed the restaurant BUT what makes this hotel stand out, THE SERVICE! From my first phone call with Paula at front desk, her big welcome upon checkin and ensuring my requests were followed through. Joseph in the evening, quick to serve and always with a smile. Joe at front desk, he seems to be around all the time and always happy to assist. I expressed my appreciation to the General Manager Tracy, another great experience, a true leader. They made every interaction a memorable one, they are all hospitality superstars. Highly recommend this hotel. Thanks everyone for making this stay so AWESOME! See you again soon,Frank

  We stayed at this Hotel for 10 nights,the staff was super friendly, the room was AWESOME, the view was SPECTACULAR, hotel was very clean as were the rooms, Koodos to the cleaning staff. Big shout out to the kitchen staff. Great location,10 min. walk to Mary Browns Centre/ George Str.

  The Hilton Garden Inn St john's is a beautiful hotel. Extremely clean, comfy beds, shower is spacious and hot. Staff is very accommodating, and friendly. Great hotel.
