Location

Situated in Sudbury, the hotel is close to Sudbury Theatre Centre. Facility

The hotel has 121 rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday.     A large corporate Hilton hotel with no surprises

    Hampton Inn by Hilton in Sudbury is just what you expect from this brand anywhere in North America. A large corporate hotel with no surprises.It is an easy short drive from Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 17). There is a large free parking. A short walk across parking lots takes you to a selection of eateries.There is a gym and indoor pool. Lifts to all floors. 24 hour reception. Rooms have fast WiFi, microwave, coffee maker, fridge and AC which provides heat too.Efficient, courteous check in.Breakfast buffet was extensive and rapidly replenished. Hot and cold options.Everything was clean and tidy. The room was large and beds comfortable. Good quality toiletries. Adequate soft towels. Quiet night's sleep.Reasonable price for Hilton members.

    No room at the inn for those with Pet Allergies

    I have severe pet allergies. Although the group booked our rooms weeks ahead informing them of my severe allergies I was told the Hilton Policy was that they were a "Pet Friendly" hotel and did not allocate 1 or 2 rooms that were pet free and as such they could not guarantee a pet would not have been in the room I was assigned "but they would do their best". Unfortunately I was with a business group that booked this particular hotel so I had to stay there and "their best" left me sick, very sick and I will continue to be for days yet with the help of many drugs I will eventually recover but this is not acceptable. Humans should be given at least the same amount of consideration as pets. I don't think asking Hitlon to change their policy to allow 1 or 2 rooms to be kept "PET FREE" is asking too much. It is not like they would remain empty if someone with allergies was not showing up, lots of people show up without pets in tow. It would be great, alongside their "Pet Friendly" policy they also had a "People with Allergies" policy. There were many in our group with food intolerance (Celiac, Dairy) and they were accommodated everywhere we went. It seems people with pet allergies are less important than a dog.

    Very nice, clean hotel. Room was spacious and very comfortable. The washroom was spotless and had lots of room to put things. Location is great. For dinner we went to Shoeless Joes which is right beside the hotel. Had a nice meal on the patio. The breakfast at the hotel was good.

    A closer look at the fitness centre/gym

    No one ever focuses on the gym/fitness centre. So I will. I'm an amateur athlete, trying to keep my weight lifting training on schedule. This gym had enough to get by, good enough for what I needed.As of August, 2025 they had:- full range of dumbbells - from 5lb up to 75lb- a tower of 5 medicine balls in various weights- a workout bench- two thin mats, I'd call them yoga and Pilates-two standard vinyl "exercise mats"- three cardio machines - a Pelaton branded bike with screen - a Precor elliptical machine with screen - a Precor treadmill with screen.- enough space to actually do floor weights, stretching, pushups, etc- a mirrored wall if you want to check your formThe hotel room itself also had a smart TV that allowed access to the Peloton app. I would expect that all of these machines linked into the Peloton app too. The fitness room is accessible 24/7. There are towels available in the room, a water dispenser with cups and an un-sexy-but-functional industrial bucket of sanitizing wipes (+ points for this).A TV in the corner was set to the sports channel, but a remote was available if I wanted to change it.For a hotel gym in a small space, I'll give it 5/5. The handweights are enough for me to sneak in a workout while my family has some downtime.If I needed a bigger workout, a strength gym (Apex Warrior) was just around the corner. Alternatively, there's a Goodlife down the street and a World Gym in a mall downtown.The hotel was fine and what I expected for a Hampton Inn - clean, sufficient, enough. Beds were fine, bathroom was clean, rooms were a bit old but nothing that stood out. Breakfast buffet was clean, warm and as expected for the chain.
