    The Best Western Plus Nor'Wester Hotel is the ideal motel for an enjoyable vacation in Thunder Bay. The accommodation and amenities are great and the staff are terrific. The view of the Nor'Westers is pure Zen. Order the Pickerel for a hearty Northern meal.

    We always enjoy our stay’s at the Nor’Wester. The staff are all friendly and efficient and the surroundings are warm and welcoming. My favourite place to stay when visiting Thunder Bay. We will be back.

    A very nice experience. Check-in was fast friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy. The pool, hot tub and sauna were all decent.

    We had a fun staycation. The best part was our waitress Kelly at breakfast. She was so great with my kids, kind, and very helpful. She really made us feel special!! Great job Kelly!

    Horrible pet friendly room

    We had been traveling across Canada for 4 weeks and I can easily say this is the worst hotel we have encountered. We realize we had a pet friendly room but the room smelled completely foul from the moment we stepped inside. It was not a urine smell but rather I think from the old curtains and bed skirt. We had to store our luggage in the bathroom so the smell wouldn’t permeate into them. When I told the clerk the next morning she didn’t seem to care about our sleepless night. So disappointing after spending $298!!!!! I emailed upon checkout and they replied with an empathetic apology but we will never return Edwin Martinez, General Manager at Best Western Plus Nor'Wester Hotel & Conference Centre, responded to this review I’m very sorry to hear about your experience, especially after a long cross-Canada trip. A comfortable, clean, and fresh room is the absolute minimum we aim to provide—pet-friendly or not—and it’s clear we did not meet that standard for you.What you described regarding the room odour is not typical for our hotel and is absolutely not acceptable. We have already taken the room out of service, replaced the soft goods you referenced, and completed a full deep-clean and inspection to ensure this does not happen again.I’m also concerned to hear that you did not feel cared for when you spoke with our team.
