  The location is top notch. The room was very comfortable and the staff were exceptional! I would return here in future and strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a place to stay in yorkville

  Great location and views of Toronto. The apartment while small was very modern and clean. The staff was friendly and responsive to my questions. I’ll stay there again.

  This place should come with a warning label. When I arrived, the person at the front desk — who openly said he didn’t even work for Avalon but was just “helping them out” — flat-out refused to check me in because he couldn’t find my reservation. I showed him my confirmation email, and instead of helping, he got rude, dismissive, and even raised his voice. It was surreal — I’m standing there with proof of my booking, and this guy is acting like I’m trying to sneak in without paying. No apology, no effort to fix it. Just attitude.And it got worse. My flight had been cancelled, which made me arrive later than planned. I called ahead to let them know, thinking I was being considerate. Their response? “We’re charging you a late check-in fee.” For a prepaid reservation. Seriously. I was being charged extra for not using their service on time — because of an airline delay that had nothing to do with me. It’s the most backwards policy I’ve ever encountered. When I tried to explain that, I was met with the same cold, unhelpful tone. No empathy. Just a shrug and a fee.The whole place feels disorganized and poorly run. Communication between Avalon Suites and whoever they outsource to is a total mess. The staff I did interact with seemed annoyed that guests even existed. Between the rudeness, the confusion, and the ridiculous “late check-in” charge, I left feeling frustrated and honestly insulted. There are plenty of places nearby that actually understand hospitality — this is absolutely not one of them.

  Unfortunately, my experience with this host was very disappointing. Our Air Canada flight was cancelled prior to our trip and want to cancel or postpone using the suite. We provided the host service with evidence of the cancellation but the host was not willing to assist us. I hoped for a bit of flexibility or understanding—basic decency, really—but were met with rigid and unhelpful responses. The lack of empathy and unwillingness to accommodate us in any way made a stressful situation even worse. I’ve stayed in many Airbnbs, and this was by far the least hospitable experience I’ve had. I would not recommend this host to anyone looking for a considerate or responsive stay, especially if you encounter an unforeseen situation and need to cancel or postpone. You will lose your money!

  Expect budget hotel not Yorkville style

  The Avalon Suites Yorkville was nothing like the pictures. Furniture was poor quality — bed slat fell off, table was scratched, and everything looked like it came from a budget online store.The sink in the main bedroom was blocked, with a plunger left there. When I tried to use it, it became filthy and the smell filled the place. Had to call for urgent cleaning.Towels were thin and barely absorbed water. Customer service was poor — reception only open 10 am–10 pm, and they charge $25 to hold luggage (but only after 11 am).Overall: dated, low-quality, and not worth the price.
