Very nice hotel with excellent friendly service from all the staff that we met, especially Parveen. Very clean, excellent breakfast. A little oasis away from home. Can't think of anything negative. When we come back to Burlington we will surely stay there again. Best Western or Best Ripoff?

    rating28 Jan 2026

I stayed at the hotel for six nights Jan 16-21. I Spent over $1000. It was bitterly cold. Monday morning, midway through my stay, the hotel shut off the water for almost a full day from 10:00-3:30 pm. This forced me out of my room. I had to go elsewhere to work. (No working toilets. No water for coffee.) There was nothing nearby, so I had to drive into the business section of the area. The hotel charged me the full rate for waterless Monday, (about $171.00), and claimed it had no control over the water issue, even though the water had been fine all weekend. Coincidentally, the hotel was full all weekend with families participating in a local sports tournament. There wasn't any water emergency while they were there. It was only Monday morning, when the hotel was now almost empty that the water issue sprung up. We were notified, in advance, via a notice that was posted on Sunday. The majority of guests had checked out Sunday afternoon or Monday morning. Not because of the water issue. Even the breakfast service Monday morning was fine, leading up to the 10:00 a.m. shutdown. Again, it was clearly not an emergency. Likely a scheduled service call set up in advance when the hotel was likely to be much less crowded. As it was. Which makes sense. That's when I would schedule the service call. But, when I complained about being charged the full rate for a room I could not use for six (6) hours, this is where management dropped the ball and tried to fake me out with gobbledegook about factors beyond its control. Nice try, folks. The hotel then tried to pawn off my complaint by offering a paltry amount of reward points worth $38. This was to offset the inconvenience of having to leave my room on the one hand, and being gouged on the price of the room on the other. (It didn't seem to matter to hotel management that I'm not a member of the reward program. Now I admit, if the hotel had offered me a more generous sum of points which got me closer to a free night somewhere, I might have been tempted to join the reward program. But the paltry amount was just insulting). The hotel claims it can ONLY offer compensation in the form of points. I suspect this is false as well. It is what the hotel would like you to believe. Very unethical practice in my opinion based on 55 years of business travel at home in Canada, and in over 45 countries abroad. And very harmful to Best Western's brand of excellence. Buyer beware. This hotel plays loose and fast with the rules we have come to expect and accept. A good hotel will usually offer you generous compensation to maintain your loyalty. Even when the circumstances are beyond its control, because they care about your return business, and positive word of mouth in a very competitive field. Katelin Boeck, Sales at Best Western Plus Burlington Inn & Suites, responded to this review Hello,Thank you for your review. We would like to correct several inaccuracies. The water shutdown on Monday was a scheduled maintenance repair following a leak identified over the weekend. It was not an emergency. The timing was intentionally selected for a day with significantly lower occupancy, and advance notice was posted on property. The work was expected to take approximately two hours but extended longer than anticipated. While the interruption was temporary, basic services were unavailable during that window. This was addressed in accordance with brand policy. Compensation was offered in the form of reward points, which is the only remediation authorized in this circumstance. Monetary compensation was requested and declined. We also wish to be clear that we do not provide compensation in exchange for the withdrawal or avoidance of negative reviews. Any implication otherwise is incorrect. Online reviews are an important part of our industry, and guests are free to share their experiences as they see fit.We stand by our actions and our transparency in handling this matter. Readers are encouraged to review all available information and draw their own conclusions. Our team remains focused on operating responsibly and maintaining our standards, even when service interruptions are unavoidable.Thank you,

    A comfortable stay...

    rating23 Oct 2025

My friend and I recently had a three night stay at Best Western Burlington. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Our check in was easy however the lady at the desk was not pleasant at all. She wasn’t rude but she wasn’t friendly. We had a room with two queen beds which was more than enough space for the two of us. The room was clean and spacious with a walk in shower. Be warned, if you have an adjoining room the sound carries. We could hear conversations and laughter from the room next door. The hot breakfast had a few selections such as toast, bagels, eggs, sausage, home fries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and juice. They even had a machine that made specialty drinks like lattes. Try to get there early - breakfast options run low in the last hour. There are several restaurants within a 5 minute drive from the hotel as well as two malls near by - Burlington Centre and Mapleview Mall. Overall we had a restful stay at this property and would come back again. Katelin Boeck, Sales at Best Western Plus Burlington Inn & Suites, responded to this review Good evening, I am glad to see your review and thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us. I'm sorry we will certainly work with said staff member to work on making people feel welcome. It's something we want everyone to feel when meeting with our staff.Your room was recently renovated and we are so glad it made such a wonderful impression. We are very excited as we continue to renovate other parts of the hotel. We do offer many different options at breakfast in hopes that there is something available for everyone. The latte machine is a guest and staff favourite alike! We are conveniently located with many restaurants nearby and the malls as well, Mapleview is one of my favourites. We would love to have you back again soon! Thanks,

Avoid a room facing the QEW

    rating24 Aug 2025

The room was clean and very spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a nice breakfast selection. My only complaint is that our room was on the third floor facing the nearby QEW, which is the major expressway to Toronto. The traffic was very busy and loud. Katelin Boeck, Sales at Best Western Plus Burlington Inn & Suites, responded to this review Good afternoon,We really appreciate your review. We are so happy with the size of our rooms and the effort our housekeepers put in to keeping them clean. We are happy to offer complimentary breakfast to all of our guests with a wide array in hopes that there is something available for everyone. We appreciate being close to the highway for our guests to easily locate us, we do understand for light sleepers it can be loud, just let us know and we can look at getting you a room on the other side of the hotel. We do hope we will see you again soon!
