The location is the only reaon to patronize this propety

    rating25 May 2026

The only saving grace that this propery has is the location. It is a tired propery and the current frachisee/operator is making sure of the same. As an IHG member when I arrived the clerk who was attending to me failed to recognize that I was an IHG member and also seemed to forget that words such as 'please' and 'thank you' are part of North American business culture. This chap was also unable to make solid eye contact. While that may be the norm i his culture it is not acceptble in Canada. Then there was the room. The room lacked a desk chair and when after two calls one was delivered it had a malfunctiong back. The pillows provided no support. And then there was the coffee maker. This antique was probably 25 or thirty years old and was showing its age. Then there is the restaurant. No never mind; the same is a joke. The only staff members who stood out were (1) the young man who was sort of the concierge bell man at the fron door and (2) one of the local technical staff. I was less than impressed as well when I wnt in to the small shop and noticed the only clerk working there wearing a ball cap. At the end of the day this operator should really call it a 'Red Roof Inn' instead of 'Crown Plaza'.

    Great Suburban Hotel

    rating09 Apr 2026

For a northern suburb hotel this was absolutely excellent. Its a bit out of the way if you want to be downtown. We were staying here for a client visit which was close by. The lobby is really wonderful. I know its weird to compliment the lobby but it felt so peaceful the moment you walked in. The front desk staff was really professional and helpful during check-in. The lobby restaurant was great for breakfast and very well priced. The gym was a bit disappointing. The equipment was old and it was really hard to find. I think they're renovating it and it can't come soon enough. The room was excellent. It had a lot of space and the view of downtown was really cool in the evening. The bathroom was a bit dated and definitely on the smaller side but the water pressure was good and the toiletries provided were also great. If I need to visit this part of Toronto again I'd definitely stay in this hotel.

Nice on the outside, but falling apart inside

    rating06 Mar 2026

I was given a room that did not have a functional toilet. I had already unpacked by this time. They offered me another room but said the bellboy had left for the day so I had to re-pack and move everything myself to another room at midnight. The new room had a burnt out lightbulb on the nightstand table lamp. It was also hot so I lowered the thermostat to cool the room down. By 6 am, I called the front desk because the thermostat wasn't working. Its the dead of winter but I have opened the window a Crack and turned off the thermostat entirely. Apparently, the hotel needs to call a technician to change the lightbulb, which will take place during daylight hours when the lamp isn't needed. The technician will fix the thermostat mid-morning while I am busy working. I booked my reservation directly with the hotel and not a 3rd party site. I should have been given a functional room. After traveling 6 hours I was tired and just needed to rest but instead it's been one thing after another. Strangely Soviet feeling hotel

    rating21 Jan 2026

I should start by saying that this review is from a visit a few weeks ago, and in those few weeks it appears that it has finally been removed from the upmarket Pan Pacific chanin and been reincarnated as a Crowne Plaza. I stayed for a week (and was there for an offsite conference) in a spacious room with a great view across the city to the CN Tower in the distance. On the positive side, the room was comfortable, the bathroom fine, and - providing you switched off the unbelievably noisy heating unit, was quiet. Staff in reception willing printed off a couple of documents for me without charge, which was good of them.Balancing this, though, the breakfast (I was on an inclusive rate, which to a European was eye-wateringly expensive) was only fair; some days the selection was good for a non-meat eater, and on other days it was quite limited, with variable quantities of fruit. There was sometimes a long queue to get into the breakfast area, which was exacerbated by being shepherded to a table, rather than being allowed to choose our own. Coffee was brought out from the kitchen by the cup, as was any form of juice; one day I had finished my breakfast before I was asked if I wanted coffee. The happy hour appears to sell less expensive beers, but they are served in smaller quantities, so cost just as much. The lifts (elevators) are abysmal - just three for 24 storeys and while I was there one was very often out of service, leading to long waits.I mentioned the room was large, but it was drab, dull and depressing - the entire hotel was painted in shades of beige, with no splash of colour. The grounds were OK; the floral clock doesn't work, and the area devoted to car parking way exceeded the number of cars, forming an asphalt wasteland. Access is possible by public transit - but only by bus (although there's a Tangerine bike hire stand about 200m from the entrance). There are plenty of places to eat across the road. But overall, unless the new managers magically improve the elevators and find a whole new palette, I couldn't really recommend it unless you absolutely need to stay in that part of town. I have stayed in Eastern European hotels before the wall came down, and this captures that atmosphere surprisingly well. Clean and Comfortable

    rating19 Dec 2025

I had really low expectations when I booked this hotel last weekend after reading the reviews here. I came to say I was pleasantly surprised. I booked strictly on location as I was taking my mom to an appointment just down the street from here and this was the most convenient as we were arriving from 4 hours away. I booked the prepaid Rate the morning of - and it was very reasonable for Toronto on a Sunday night. Parking was an additional $20. All very standard. Walking into the lobby it was beautiful. All decorated and very clean. Staff was very friendly and I was checked in quickly and efficiently. Given a 4th floor room that was maybe slightly dated but very clean and beds were clean and comfortable. Checkout was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again for the price!
