    Affordable Room

    rating28 May 2025

It was a last resort, one of the only affordable rooms left during a very busy time in the city. The Filmore is a landmark in the city. I was taken aback by the appearance of the building. I entered with hesitation and was greeted by a friendly young woman. I decided to stay and asked for a first floor room. I was placed in a corner room, opened the windows of the room and settled in. The room had all the basic things: a small table and two chairs, it was clean, the bathroom had toiletries.I went to the ballet in an Uber, leaving my car parked in the parking lot next to the hotel.I booked the hotel for a second stay on a later trip when no affordable rooms were available, and had the same experience.Basic accommodations at a budget price.

Cheap place, does the trick if you need somewhere to crash while attending a concert or something.

Inexpensive place by Toronto standards. Walkable to nearby attractions, or a short uber. Parking is next door and not expensive. Lots of places to eat nearby. Stayed here while attending an event at the Phoenix, which is a 10 minute walk. The neighborhood is rough, but seemed safe enough. The hotel is above a strip club, but who cares?Staff were nice and helpful but the checkout process was waay too slow. I had to wait while the guy went and checked the room... I don't mind the deposit etc.. but seriously this process needs to be way faster. People waiting for 20 minutes.

    Nice hotel

    rating23 Nov 2024

I really was little bit scare for the opinions that i read before. When i got there, the zone was little scary, there is a night club under it. But when i got into the hotel, the greece guy from the reception was so so Kind with me, and the room was fine! Small room but for me very fine with all my needs, i would stay again if it is needed :)

    rats

    rating10 Oct 2023

They had a rat in my room, and it was chewing in the room at night. it ran around, and I saw it. big, black and white, with a long tail. They tried to tell me it might be a mouse, but I can assure you it was a rat. they wouldn't even give me a refund for the one night I asked for. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! HORRIBLE

    REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    rating22 Aug 2023

It was the worst experience in my life. Upon my arrival at the alleged "hotel," it seemed as though a dust storm had just swept through, leaving behind a layer of grime that even a crime scene investigator would shy away from. The sheets, resembled a modern art masterpiece - an abstract canvas adorned with stains that defied explanation, and honestly, decency. As I connect to the Wi-Fi, I found myself unceremoniously thrust into the world of adult content. Now, to add the pièce de résistance to this abhorrent experience, there was a strip club that seemed to have taken root right inside or perhaps parasitically attached itself to the hotel, much like a pesky barnacle on a sinking ship. I can only assume this was an attempt to distract us from the catastrophe that was the 'accommodation.'Summoning whatever courage remained, I checked out early and inquired Jessica about a refund for the nights I had not spent marinating in this pit of despair. Alas, Jessica, a master of interpersonal skills, opted for a dramatic exit, hanging up the phone on me. Should you ever consider visiting the Filmores Hotel, remember to bring a black light and a sense of humor drier than the Sahara. This establishment is truly a marvel – of audacity, if nothing else.
