    Crackheads

    rating29 Mar 2026

This place was so misleading. Crackheads everywhere, living there, and some driving around in a busted window car looking for drugs all around the complex. Gross. I was afraid to park there overnight let alone sleep there. I didn't even feel safe to sleep in my car. Luckily they refunded my money but I had a late night and overspent looking elsewhere for a hotel at short notice.

    Dumpy motel

    rating05 Aug 2025

This place is a dump. My room was like a dungeon. I had a bath then walked around the room in bare feet. My feet were filthy. They charged me a pet fee at check in then doubled it at checkout. There was zero accidents in the room, she did her business outside. The locks on the doors don’t work properly. The staff were rude when I questioned them about the extra pet fee. The head guy said “ you obviously don’t travel with a pet very often “. I was visiting from Puerto Vallarta with my 4 pound chihuahua. She goes everywhere with me. $70 pet fee for a 2 night stay in a dumpy hotel, seriously? Do yourself a favour, avoid this horrible place.

Great experience❤️ will book again in the future

Just stayed here with my 2 daughters, they loved it. The room we stayed in had 2 separate bedroomsBig improvements from when I stayed in 2020 it was quiet, they have a big yard with picnic tables and the staff were super nice. Easy check in and check outwhen we checked out my daughters were having a hard time listening (climbing the desk, etc) and who I’m guessing was the manager gave them cookies and was really understanding and patient with them.it’s walking distance to stores and restaurants, trains, etc(It was also cheaper to book directly through the site rather than booking websites)Would definitely recommend staying here especially if you’re looking for a place for multiple nights. It’s overpriced but you may still want to stay for nostalgic reasons…

    rating21 May 2025

It was very difficult to write a review on this hotel, I am not surprised that it got such a low rating as one would expect at the prices they charge something much, much better however there is a history behind it as to why they charge as much as they do and I”d like the hotel to stay in business. For those reasons I gave it a higher rating than probably deserved as I hope they still stay in business. This is not owned by neither a hotel chain or by private owners (not even the someone from the Patel clan LOL!) but rather by the City of Vancouver, this was originally planned to be torn down and have some sort of complex which included stores to be erected here but perhaps like a UNESCO heritage site it was allowed to remain. The reviews are probably based on what you get for what you pay for and for that reason people rate it very poorly, you pay almost $250 with all taxes included for an outdated room, with no kitchenette (for that you pay $50 more) most modern places usually include a fridge and microwave, for a room kindly called “vintage.” The room has few plugs and the ones there are, are located inconveniently behind the bedpost although the lamps on the table have outlets, (it seems that they don’t check to see that they are plugged in as not only was lamp not plugged in but the cable also) but if you want to use the coffeemaker or table fan, you have to put in on the floor as the only outlet is a power strip, and the cords on the appliances are too short to reach it (why no extension cords to the power strip, to reach the plugs? ) In the bathroom the electric socket is very, very high above the mirror and instead of a towel rack to hold your towels, they have another mirror, they put the towels which have rods there I guess for hanging them on a metal platform which again is also very, very high up. The only curtains are the black out curtains not even sheer curtains so if you want to have the curtain open during the day you can’t for privacy sake as this cottages are only one story. The carpeting that might have been there has been replaced by hardwood floors but surprise, they give you nice fluffy slippers but if they weren’t in your room, be sure to request them!! Now the reason, the prices are high for what you get (I stayed in a Best Western suite that had TWO rooms in the heart of downtown which was $199) is the land value which is why at one time the city was considering developing it, and they may still. What they should do is develop some of the property in the back (they should have a Tim or Starbucks there when I first started visiting here I only knew about the Church’s and it had NO coffee) and maybe a strip mall with a few retail store so it can bring income to the city whilst retaining a few cabins with their iconic sign for people who want to have a nostalgic experience and who are willing to pay whatever price the want and also so if people want to film there, they can still do so, and the city profit from that. They could build a wall separating that from the motel so they other would not show in photos or films. If you go in the lobby they not only have photos of films being made there but also a scrapbook of them renovating the place, the people who staff the front desk also seem very interesting not the typical front desk employees and are very nice. Because of the high vacancy rate, you can probably have a VERY early check in even if you book the same day, I called at 10 AM to book the same day and was told I could move in early. Kristian Miller, General Manager at 2400 Motel Ltd., responded to this review Hi Jenn,Thanks for taking the time to put together such a thoughtful review. Our team is indeed very interesting, and nice. Our electrical layout is also based on 1946 electrical needs, and therefore not particularly convenient for the modern user. Especially as we provide coffee in the room now since as you saw coffee is tricky to find around here. We generally do have an array of extension cords and/or power bars in place though. I couldn't find your particular reservation in our system, but I'll have maintenance keep their eyes on all the rooms just in case. Our pricing positioning comes from a different angle than you propose, but I am glad you find us a venue worth supporting! We will continue to position ourselves towards the entry end of the marketplace to keep welcoming travelers from all over. See you next time,

Better of staying on a park bench!

    rating07 Jan 2025

Ugly dated rooms! We spent 2 nights here, no housekeeping and a week after we checked out I noticed a bill on my credit card. I called them and they said we damaged the room (small stain on sheets from dropping a hot wing) they charged me 150.00. I asked them to mail me my sheets or refund my card. No reply yet. They made no effort to contact me to inform me of the 'damages' to the room. Worst place ever! General Manager, General Manager at 2400 Motel Ltd., responded to this review Hi Jen,We have been in contact through other review sites, and direct email already – including more communication this morning, so I will not comment further here. Be well.
