  Overcharges and NO FIRE ALARM?

  While check in and check out was quick and easy, that’s where it ends. If you choose to stay here, make sure to check your bank statements! When checking in we also asked if there was a BCAA discount. The front desk assured us he would give us a “good deal” and offered us our room for $180. We gave $100 cash and were told that our credit card would be due the remaining $80 plus gst. They ended up charging us $130 though. I assumed it was a mistake, but was told they never “noted” the discount. They said the man who offered us the discount would call us back to explain but never heard from him. When I asked to talk to management, they said he would call us and they HUNG UP ON ME. I have called multiple time to try to get this over charged worked out, but they continually gas light me or hang up on me. They also do not follow safety protocols. Right away upon entering the room, we noticed that the fire alarm kept beeping. We told the front desk and all he did was offer to take it off for the night. Since it was late and we just wanted to sleep, we agreed and slept in an illegal room with no working fire alarm.

  Clean rooms, great customer service. 5 minutes to the train. Descent continental breakfast. Friendly and quiet. Firm beds.

  Well what can I say about this little gem. When staying in places which are in this price bracket, one thing I can say is they are all treated as a cash cow with no money going back into the property, this however is the exception. This is being treated as business that is there for the long haul and not being drained of money. The friendly staff, exceptional cleanliness, a proper breakfast not just cereal, TV channels without interference, larger than standard hotel towels, dove soap, bible in bed side cabinet, clean corridors, vacuum marks in the carpet all are signs of a well maintained hotel. Even trying to pull the bed covers up was like a tag-o-war the bed was made that well. Was it perfect, no. Theres were a couple of tiles that needed grouting which I offered to do but hey had no grout on site, and I had to go out of my way to find some dirt on the carpet was in the emergency stairwell behind the lift which most people don't go down, the TV did't turn on and off with remote but volume and channels worked fine, and if I was being really picky the shampoos and soaps were fixed too low down that you had to bend down to see what you were using when in the shower. This is the diamond in the layer of rocks, and we have slept in some rocky places. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! Even if we now have to drive further to our destination. We didn't have high expectations driving there, we even joked about it because of what we have stayed in before, we were pleasantly proved wrong and just goes to show how a properly managed hotel can be when looked after. I think a special mention has to go to house keeping, the way the beds were made, the cleanliness of the rooms and mammoth main corridor were spotless!

  House keeping entered room without permission

  House keeping guy entered our room without permission out calling out housekeeping and blamed own management. On the other hand management refused and said to make a complain and that they know who this housekeeping guy was.
