Overpriced hotel with dipping beds. Yuck!

Imagine paying $400 per night for an overpriced dated downtown hotel with dipping beds. Both the beds in my 2 bedroom suite have dipping beds. I almost want to cry and move over to the sofa in the middle of the night. I just had a massage from the cruise to help ease the tension and stress of travelling but the bed made my back and neck hurt. Yikes run , stay somewhere else. Great location to airport and all downtown conveniences. Walk to Stanley Park, Harbor, Skytrain etc. Will stay again. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are spacious and clean. It was nice having a balcony. TVs in both, the bedroom and the living room. The bed was soft and comfortable. There was plenty of closet space and hangers. The staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent staff, just some bad luck and bad timing. Could easily be a five star.

Start with the good. The staff are nothing but intelligent, engaging, and helpful. Enjoyed the pool every day and night we were there. We arrived Saturday around 1600 and left Monday sometime near noon. We were spending the weekend at the coast and then going to our nexus appointments Monday afternoon Saturday checking in was a bit of a zoo, it seems some large groups showed up all at once. Oh well, bad timing and we wait to get checked in. Next they try to give us the diamond upgrade but the room slate to fill and there is an engineering issue on the 18th floor. No worries, we will take the room we booked.Get to our room unpacked, go for a swim, have a bite and a nap, turn on the telly, and around 2230 a mouse runs between my wife’s feet as she stood up to go to the bathroom. The mouse ran out of the bedroom, stopped, turned around and looked at us, then booked it into the living room. My wife is t skittish at all but it caught her unaware. I thought it was pretty comical which didn’t go over well either. Pickup the phone while the wife starts packing and call the front desk. They arrange another room on the 11th floor(we were on the 12th). And we proceeded to pack up as the bellman came up to help us moveStaff were great, asked what they could do to make it up, and I said if a room upgrade comes available that would be great. The room on the 11th they gave us had a smaller bathroom. Next day they show around 1400 while my wife is sleeping and the bellman says they will transfer to the other tower. I say no thanks as the rooms are smaller without kitchens. By this time we are already settled in and it’s only for one more nightBellman leaves, another phone call asking are we sure we don’t want the switch. And I replied again that we didn’t. Then we tried the breakfast buffet on Monday and that is a separate review All in all a disjointed unlucky, untimely amount of events that couldn’t be proactively prevented in my mind.
