Awful Experience - Extremely Unprofessional and Immature Staff

    rating18 Apr 2026

Stayed at this hotel for a few nights in early April. I was SHOCKED at how awful my experience was with the staff. One of them laughed in my face for a pretty standard request. Another one responded in the most childish, sarcastic way possible. Extremely unprofessional and very immature. Full details below:April 2 - around 6:00PM:I arrived on Thursday and was greeted by a very kind and caring individual (Leila? or Lila? I didn't fully catch her name unfortunately but she were awesome). She checked me into my room and had me sign an agreement regarding the hotels policies (incidentals, no-smoking, pets, etc.). I usually grab a copy of the agreements just in case there's any disputes in the future, but I was so tired that I forgot to ask. After taking a quick nap in my room, I remembered that I didn't get a copy so I returned back to the front desk at around 6:00PM and interacted with another staff member this time (an older gentlemen). I asked him if I could see my agreement so I could take a picture for my records, and he literally LAUGHED in my face. I'm not kidding - he literally just laughed at me like I had asked him for something ridiculous. He responded back by saying "it's not that serious", which was quite infuriating given that I didn't ask him for his opinion on the matter. After asking him again if I could see the agreement, he finally got out of his chair to go grab the document, and on the way over to the drawer, he stopped to randomly talk with another customer before returning back with my agreement.I was honestly just shocked at the whole thing. I've been to a lot of hotel establishments before and I have never had such an interaction where the staff member was so openly disrespectful, unprofessional, and apathetic. In the moment, I couldn't comprehend why he would respond in this way, so I ended up leaving it for the night (I was also just exhausted and didn't have the energy to deal with it right then and there) but I came back the following day to see if I could speak with a manager about the experience. April 3 - around 1:30PMThis was the second appalling interaction I had with the staff. I approached the front desk to ask to see if I could talk to a manager, and there were two female staff working (one older and one younger individual). The older individual put in a quick phone call to notify the manager, who came out to greet me and invited me into the back office to talk. As I explained what happened, the manager on duty was generally quite supportive and apologized for what happened. He even offered me a free breakfast which was nice, but what I didn't appreciate was that he seemed to try and justify the staff members behaviour saying that the request to see the agreement again was "unusual and uncommon", and maybe that was why he laughed at me (??).I really didn't understand that part. First: I don't think asking for a copy of an agreement is "unusual" - in my experience, hotels will usually either provide the copy automatically to the customer, or be more than happy to provide a copy when asked. Second (and more importantly): even if there is an unusual or uncommon request (which again, I don't think this counts), I don't think the appropriate response is for a hotel staff member to laugh in the face of a customer. A more productive and empathetic approach would be to inquire more and ask questions to try and understand the request, not try to humiliate the customer by laughing in their face. All to say, I left that conversation with the manager feeling conflicted, but that wasn't even the worst part. As I left the back office, I thanked the older female staff member at the front desk for her help (she was sitting on the far side of the desk, closer to the elevator and away from the back office), and she responded by saying "OH OF COURSE, SUUUUUUUURE" in the most childish, sarcastic voice that I have ever heard (I'm not exaggerating, I actually physically cringed on my way to elevator as I heard her say it given how unnatural and immature it sounded). I could only imagine that she was responding that way as an act of resentment because I was speaking to the manager about a fellow staff member, which I think is quite immature for obvious reasons. Not only did she not know what I was actually speaking to the manager about, she also wasn't there for the original incident that precipitated this (she was making a lot of assumptions). All to say, after that, I decided there was no point in talking to the manager anymore about the staff. The blatant disrespect and immaturity within those two interactions was enough to make me never want to stay at a Radisson Hotel again. I literally checked out of my room early to get away from that awful environment (I didn't even use my free breakfast, that's how bad it was).I don't think I need to elaborate on why these experiences were so shocking and awful. For a hotel establishment that prides itself on its reputation, I could not believe how rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional the staff were. I've literally had better and more professional interactions at budget motels.Outside of my main concerns with the staff, the rooms were quite standard, although a bit dusty and dated. Soundproofing was decent and there were windows that opened which was nice. You can request robes and slippers from the front desk (but unfortunately the hot tub was broken during my stay) and there is a decently well equipped gym on site. But even with the best and most updated rooms and facilities, I don't think there's anything that can make up for a severe lack of customer service. With so many other options in the vicinity, I really hope that the management looks into this and works on training/hiring more mature, professional staff members. It was extremely disappointing for me as this was my first time staying at a Radisson Hotel and I was hoping for a better experience given their reputation. Sadly, after the appalling and awful experience with the staff here, I don't think I'll ever be coming back to a Radisson Hotel again in the future. G Ralston, Guest Services / Front Office at Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to detail your experience. Your feedback is important to us and your opinion is valued. We receive a lot of compliments for the services our team provide and the friendly nature in which we interact with our guests. We are disappointed your interactions were not similar and we hope you will accept our apologies. While it is rare for a guest to request a copy of the agreement you mention, it is something that we can provide and we appreciate you taking the fine print seriously. We do know you were able to obtain a copy as requested at the time. We also appreciate you taking the time to speak with our Manager on Duty during your visit. We tried our best to apologize for the interactions with our team that you felt were inappropriate and we had hoped the breakfast offering would be viewed as a sign of good faith. We are sorry it missed the mark. We felt after speaking with you, you were appreciative that we heard your concerns and we had begun to turn your stay around for you. Since your visit with us, we have followed up with our team so an occurrence like this does not repeat itself and used this as a learning experience. We wish you all the best in your travels and we hope should you return to the area, you may reconsider staying with us so we may be able to exceed your expectations.Sincerely,Garrett RalstonFront Office Manager

    Nice property but noisy

    rating25 Feb 2026

It's a good location if you're looking for airport access, but as an airport hotel we were disappointed with the sound insulation as we could hear airplane noises all night. It wasn't excessive, but loud enough to wake you if you're falling asleep.Staff was ok except for one issue where we were told to drop everything and come get our shuttle 20m before we were supposed to leave, because the driver wanted a break. So much for service. G Ralston, Guest Services / Front Office at Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and we are disappointed to learn we did not fully meet your expectations. We are disappointed the sound dampening insulation of the Hotel was not enough for you. We are also disappointed that you needed to drop everything when we inquired if you were able to depart for the airport a little earlier than planned. We appreciated you accommodating the request and we are sorry for the inconvenience. Your feedback does assist us so we can follow-up with our team to continue to improve our services. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope for another opportunity to welcome you back so we may be able to exceed your expectations.Sincerely,Garrett RalstonFront Office Manager

DO NOT USE AGODA OR THIS HOTEL

    rating02 Feb 2026

Booked a one night stay January 2nd for a Jan 30th stay. unfortunately my entire trip was cancelled. Started calling both agoda who i booked through and front desk at the hotel. Both companies said it was the other companies decision to refund me. Left multiple messages to try and reach someone at the hotel and clarify. Was then told if I had a cancelled flight, I would be refunded. I advised my flight wasnt cancelled, my entire trip was and I could send my flight credit I recieved. Again, told by agoda I would need to call the Radisson again. The amount of time wasted to just attempt to speak to someone on such a small request was ridiculus. My card was charged in full for a room I was trying to cancel TEN days before my stay. I use the Radisson for work and Kids tournaments all the time and this will be the last time I reserve with them. Same thing with Agoda, pass the buck mentality with zero concern for the customer. G Ralston, Guest Services / Front Office at Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport, responded to this review We appreciate the frustration that can occur when booking with online travel providers, especially when changes in itinerary happen. In this case, as the traveler is aware, the reservation was made as a fully prepaid, non-cancellable booking with an online travel provider who has taken payment directly from the traveler who made the reservation. When we are informed of cancel requests that are not in compliance with the cancellation policies that are agreed to at the time of reservation, we take into consideration all factors that are presented to us to try to do our best in each circumstance. We are sorry we were not able to do more in this case and we are sorry for the frustration that has happened. We truly hope, we will be able to welcome you on a future trip to the West Coast of Canada.Sincerely,Garrett RalstonFront Office Manager

Close-to-everything airport hotel in Richmond / Vancouver

    rating04 Oct 2025

The Radisson is a nice hotel. The location can't be beat. It's < 10 minutes to the airport by car / shuttle. Aberdeen Center, Tim's, Yaohan, and the train station are literally all across the street in different directions. It's a short walk to Sunshine Village and its amazing collection of restaurants. The hotel is a bit old-ish, that's the downside. I can hear the train and some air traffic but I slept very well despite being a light sleeper. Wifi worked very well in our rooms and there is a small fridge in the rooms. Housekeeping was excellent. The front desk staff were great as well. There is a small parking area at the hotel (for a fee) which did not fill up at all during our stay. There is a restaurant, bar, fitness center, and fitness center at the hotel. The price was good. It was much cheaper to book directly.I saw many flight crews at the hotel. That's probably a good sign. Very positive experience at this hotel. I had to extend my stay twice due medical issues, and they were super helpful. The kale and quinoa salad at their restaurant is very tasty. I had it twice!
