Location

Richmond in general and this hotel in particular are ideally positioned as a gateway to virtually everything British Columbia has to offer; just minutes from the airport and the centre of Vancouver. Alaskan cruises, sport fishing, Whistler holidays, whale watching, golfing and shopping in the exotic Asian-influenced community are all options when staying here. Richmond city centre is 1 km from the hotel. The hotel is located at Vancouver International Airport.

Facility

210 rooms, including 40 single rooms and 142 double rooms, are located on 21 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (no extra charge). Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, a transfer service, 24-hour room service, a laundry service and a hotel shuttle bus. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. Guests can enjoy the view of the city from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms, non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

There are indoor and outdoor pools and a children's swimming area. Fun on the waterslide and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including tennis, a gym, a spa, a sauna and hydrotherapy treatments. A casino and a nightclub are also options for entertainment.

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a café and a bar. Breakfast, lunch and dinner offer many delicious options.

    The front desk service is always smooth and easy to navigate! Staff is friendly from check in to maintenance staff we see on the premises.We usually eat in the Lounge and were happy they now have Happy Hour specials! Food is always tasty.     Huge Opportunities for Improvement

    I had a flight cancelled and this hotel showed up in the Air Canada listing as premium. Wow couldn't be further from truth. What ever is above me sounds like construction dropping heavy and hard things on the floor for the last 2 1/2 hours. The AC is portable type, without the option for heat it's March. No thermostat in the room so this end of the hotel appears to be centrally heated. Attempted to take the elevator to my room but myself and the other person unable to get it working no obvious card sensor. I was going to order room service from CHOPS which is usually a higher end steak house and I see other reviews they have a policy not to provide silverware, instead use bamboo utensils even with Steak. Not my night.     Waterslide is great!

    The draw for this hotel was the waterslide and it did not disappoint! Super fun, big and fast...no lights so dark at night which kids loved!Issues were - ran out of towels at pool and hot tub was NOT hot. Called to report the issue as did several other guests and was not addressed during our visit. Could not enjoy the pool as much due to this.Also, although the room was good (studio suite) the shower was the worst I have experienced! Absolutely no pressure, barely a trickle, impossible to wash out shampoo or soap.Sadly doubtful I would return.     I’ve stayed here before and liked it but this was not a good stay. So many things didn’t work as advertised. Only one USB port in the room and it didn’t work, none on the desk. The scanner for room service took me to a page asking if I’d like food for Thursday or Friday (this was on Monday) despite the hotel info on the other scan thing saying it’s available 7 days a week. And there are all these signs about vending in Columbia tower on various floors - when I couldn’t get dinner in the room I went to all of them looking for at least some water (fridge was empty) and there was nothing on any of them.May not stay here again as it seems really unreliable and dated.     Superb place to stay in Richmond.Upon arrival we were glad to see Guri.He had made our first stay in Richmond so very pleasant. This trip was even better.Such a gorgeous suite Guri put us in.Whoa!My wife and enjoyed the lovely pool and hot tub.Sandman delivered a great experience. Clean, proper and luxurious.
