Location

This hotel is situated in trendy Davie Village in the West End area of central Vancouver. Restaurants and bars can be found in the immediate vicinity, and shopping amenities such as the Pacific Centre can be reached in a few minutes on foot. The Grouse Mountain skiing area and a ski lift are a 30-minute drive from the hotel.

Facility

The apartment hotel has 198 suites, which are located on 24 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include medical assistance, room service, a laundry service and a hairdresser.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a queen-sized bed and a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A minibar and a desk are also available. For self-catering guests, there is a well-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, microwave and tea/coffee station. Further amenities include a washing machine and an ironing set. A direct dial telephone, a TV, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms include a hairdryer and are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked.

Sport

The pleasantly heated water of the outdoor pool area guarantees comfortable swimming. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including a gym, a spa, a sauna and a steam bath.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant (with high chairs), a breakfast room and a bar. Bed and breakfast can be booked.

    Awful hotel, avoid at all cost

    AWFUL EXPERIENCE i travel for work a lot and stay in hotels often. This hotel was literally the worst. Here for 2 weeks stay and woken every morning by drilling into behind my headboard. Front desk rarely answer phone and when they do they say its because they are getting many complaints. No mention of construction anywhere at hotel. They refuse to even say sorry and are incredibly dismissive. I had great service from one friendly person at front desk on day 2 who gave my dog a treat, he was kind. I am now on day 9 of 14 and counting down till I can leave. Cleaners are bad and do a poor job too. I ended up going and buying cleaning products to wipe my own surfaces so I felt the room was clean. Will not be back. Do yourself a favour and book anywhere else but here.     Fire alarm woke us up

    I stayed as part of the Vancouver Stays promo where they provide a giftcard on check in. The gift card was supposed to be a $250 card, but they ended up giving me 1x $100 and 1x $150 card. These denomination were difficult to use and many restaurants don't even accept cards that swipe and do not have tap/chip functionality. I don't recommend doing this promo if you've considered it. The actual hotel is decent. The beds are not the worst and the kitchen was clean and fully stocked. New appliances, including a big fridge, stove with oven, dishwasher, and microwave, even a water kettle. The thing that was unfortunate about the stay is that around midnight, after we were tucked into bed the fire alarm started going off. They also had someone saying something over the loudspeaker, but it was so loud that it was IMPOSSIBLE to hear what they were saying. We were staying on the 18th floor and had to evacuate by stairs. When we made i outside, there was no obvious fire and some people hadn't even evacuated. Eventually we went back up to our room as there was no danger. I asked for a discount when checking out but the staff said since it was the fault of another customer, that they would not offer any discount. Overall, this was a huge inconvenience and was not made right by the staff at the hotel and for this reason I would not stay here again.     After reading other reviews of this hotel what a pleasant surprise. Room was clean and well equipped. Fab shower. Comfy bed. Although there is a visible presence of the homelessness down Davie St, they do not bother you. Staff helpful. Pool was good. It clearly states in reception that they are updating building but this does not affect your stay.     Dirty, dated and grime.

    Avoid Avoid Avoid. Hotel is extremely dated, however I wish this had of been the only issue.The room was dirty and very dusty.One the bed had dirty bedding, while the other bed had torn bedlinen.The wallpaper was coming of the walls, and the paint was peeling of the ceiling in the bathroom.The carpet is the bedroom was dirty and sticky. My dogs have cleaner beds to lie on than the carpet in this hotel.     Surprisingly stylish comfort in a fantastic locationWhen I first stepped into the hallway at the Sandman Hotel & Suites Vancouver – Davie Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect—the hallwaywas a bit dingy and could use a refresh. But the moment I opened the door to my suite, I was blown away.Inside was a freshly renovated apartment-style suite that was newly renovated, bright, and beautifully designed. The full kitchen came with everything I needed to cook a meal (yes—even a dishwasher!), and there was a handy list of all available kitchen items inside the cupboard.The living room was cozy and contemporary, featuring a leather couch, a large screen TV, and access to a nicely sized balcony—perfect for morning coffee. The bedroom was equally inviting, with a comfortable queen-sized bed and tasteful modern photography of Vancouver on the walls.The standout feature? The completely renovated bathroom, boasting a luxurious dual-head shower that felt like a spa experience.The hotel’s location made exploring the city a breeze. Shoppers Drug Mart (open 24 hours across the street), great restaurants, and even the SkyTrain (just 1 km away for easy access to the airport) were all within walking distance. A beach was also a pleasant 18-minute walk from the hotel—perfect for an evening stroll.All in all, this suite was a fantastic value and exceeded my expectations in every way.
