A good basic Motor Hotel. No Elevators.

    rating09 Nov 2025

The rooms are very clean. Parking is ample. Access is only from the right lane of Capilano Road. You have to circle the black to access the site from the right lane. Heater is very loud with a buzz sound like a power tool. Very small bathroom. Guest Services , Other at SureStay By Best Western North Vancouver Capilano, responded to this review Thank you so much for your kind review. I have passed this onto our maintenance team for review.

    Clean and comfortable motor lodge

    rating24 Oct 2025

Clean, comfortable and well appointed motor lodge in an accessible NVan location across the street from some restaurants and other amenities. Older but well maintained motel - rooms are quite dated but kept in good shape. Lady at the front desk was efficient and friendly. I would stay here again.

    Very clean.

Very clean hotel. Everything is old, but very clean and well maintained. The pool was clean and very refreshing after a 6 hour drive. The lady at the front desk was amazing! Very friendly and helpful. We stayed for one night, and I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay.

Motel-style property, okay for one night stay

    rating28 Jun 2025

Our family of four stayed here for a quick overnight in mid-June as part of our road trip. This was our first time trying a Best Western property, and did not have much expectations, knowing the brand typically falls into a more budget tier compared to our usual accommodations. It’s important to note that this is more of a motel-style setup than a traditional hotel, each room is accessed directly from the outside, and there’s no entrance control or centralized lobby or interior hallway.***Location and Parking***The property is centrally located in North Vancouver, just minutes from popular attractions like the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Grouse Mountain. However, its position at a tight corner near a gas station makes the entrance easy to overlook, especially when driving past at speed. As noted earlier, this is a motel-style layout, with parking arranged directly around the buildings. Individual parking spaces are quite narrow—suitable for compact cars, but a tight squeeze for anything midsize or larger. Maneuvering in and out can feel a bit cramped, particularly when the lot is full. ***Facility and Room***The property was originally built in 1959, and there's no public record of any major renovation since. Its age shows—low ceilings, compact room layouts, and yellowed outlets and light switches all contribute to a dated feel. The room we stayed in was slightly smaller than a typical hotel room, continuing that aged impression. The bathroom, in particular, felt quite cramped. While the bed was okay for a one-night stay, there was nothing remarkable otherwise.Sound insulation is minimal—the building doesn’t do much to block street noise. We were woken several times by loud emergency vehicle sirens throughout the night, which raised both comfort and safety concerns. It's hard to understand why sirens need to be used so frequently after midnight when traffic is light. Combined with the motel-style layout—where each room opens directly to the outside—it contributed to a less secure, more exposed feeling overnight.***Breakfast***Breakfast is not included with the room rate—which, depending on your expectations, might actually be preferable for a motel-style property like this. There is, however, an on-site restaurant (De Dutch) that offers a full breakfast menu. Unfortunately, the dining area is quite small and was very crowded during our visit. Not sure why people were still lining up into the front desk area to wait for a table, creating congestion and an experience that felt poorly coordinated during peak morning hours.***Staff***We only interacted with the front desk staff—one during check-in at night and another at check-out the following morning. Service was okay and unremarkable. Notably, neither staff member wore a uniform or attire that clearly identified them or appropriate as hotel personnel, which detracted from the sense of professionalism you might expect, even at a budget property.***Overall***For a one-night stay, the motel-style accommodation was functional and free of major issues—but it felt noticeably overpriced for what was offered. That may reflect limited hotel availability in the Vancouver area, where even modest properties come at a premium. This was our first experience with a Best Western, and it left us uncertain whether this reflects the brand’s typical standard or a location-specific compromise. If we return to the area, we’d likely explore alternative lodging options, even at a higher cost, to ensure a more comfortable and secure experience. Vancouver is a vibrant city, but appears to have limited mid-range hotel capacity, which likely inflates pricing. If you’re considering this property, just be sure to adjust your expectations accordingly.

    Not Impressed

    rating07 Jun 2025

This is not a hotel as advertised - it is a motel! For the price we paid we were not impressed. The first hour we got there the toilet backed up. They gave us another room because there was no maintenance on site in the evening. It was very clean but I would not stay there again. They would not even offer a discount for the inconvenience.
