Location

This hotel is located in the heart of Victoria's leisure district along the scenic Gorge Waterway, in a quiet, family-oriented residential neighbourhood just 5 min from downtown Victoria. The hotel is just steps away from numerous recreational activities, from kayaking to cycling. The city centre of Victoria, as well as nightlife options and tourist facilities, is around 2 km away. The nearest shopping centre is about 1 km away. Public transport can be found just some 10 m from the hotel, and the bus terminal is around 2 km away. The hotel is around 5 km from the sea and 8 km from Thetis Lake. Gorge Waterway Park is around 1500 m away.

Facility

23 junior suites, 12 suites and 38 double rooms are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. There are a number of shops as well.     The check-in experience was good but when we got to our room, which took a while to find and no assistance from staff, it was a disappointment. The room was rough, especially the bathroom. The grout around the bathroom was old, peeling and sloppy. there were gaps in the oldish flooring that had been patched with new glue, which oozed up through the floor. I took a shower and the tub filled 3" deep and took well over an hour to drain. Left the hotel early the first day and returned early evening. No maid service, no coffee replenish. Left early again second day and no change. Upon checkout, we mentioned that there was no maid service the day before, and were told maid service and coffee replenishment was only available upon request.I have traveled extensively on business and this experience was unique. My wife and I will never stay there again!

    Exceptional value for the price. Great location. Room nice and clean with comfy bed.Outstanding service at checking.Breakfast was reasonably priced and the limited menu offered the traditional Breakfast staples including hot oatmeal.

    We really enjoy staying here. There is a good pub on site and it is close to a park and trails for the dog. Comfie beds and pillows. Sadly breakfast is not an included option but is available on site. Good value for a January booking.
