  The location is amazing. Easy walk to downtown, the nearby market or the Royal BC Museum. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Every unit has a kitchenette with minimal dishware and there are two separate buildings. We were on the 2nd floor of the Mount Royale building. Our room was clean. Prices were very reasonable.The first morning I woke up really, really warm with a sore hip, but it got better each night we were there. Getting used to the bed, I guess.We never did figure out the heating. It seemed to make no difference where the thermostat was set. However, the room stayed comfortableThere was very limited and tight parking (which we paid extra for). One night we had to park at an offsite lot and had to move the car the next morning by 9 am. Our room was very noisy from the room above us. Chairs seemed to be constantly being pulled around and heavy footsteps. (How much can you walk around a small unit?) I recommend asking for a top floor unit.

  What a little gem I've found in Victoria. Well located in Beacon Hill area it's an easy walk to local attractions, shopping and parks. I booked a King suite and that's exactly what I got. Separate bedroom with a great bed and a huge T.V. Living room with a comfy couch and another huge T.V. a cute little patio surrounded by lush vegetation. A well equipped kitchen and very clean bathroom. Combined with friendly, courteous service and an unbeatable price the Helms Inn offers incredible value.

  This hotel was very pleasant and provided everything I needed-good sleep and shower, kitchenette. There was a little street noise from the thoroughfare as the window didn't completely close but it was not bothersome. There is a medium sized market a couple blocks away, as well as a coffeehouse. Good array of kitchenware and equipment is provided to make a meal. The location behind the BC Museum and a bus exchange is convenient, and not a far walk from the Empress Hotel. There is a huge park across the street worth exploring; I saw deer tracks, peacocks, and a rose garden. Desk clerk was polite. I loved staying here and want to return.

  We had a good stay at Helm’s Inn in Victoria.It is in a great location, right beside Beacon Hill park and near the legislature. It is easy walking distance to the harbour, fisherman’s wharf and downtown Victoria. Parking is $20.00 a day.When we arrived at 1:00 our room was not ready but they gave us a parking voucher so we were able to park our car and explore Victoria. The staff were all very friendly. There is coffee and newspapers available in the lobby and they have a nice little courtyard outside the lobby but there were only 2 tables available.The room was clean but our room was very small and backed onto the main road. I had trouble sleeping because of traffic late at night and early in the morning. The air conditioning unit was also very loud so getting a good nights sleep was difficult.The price was reasonable for high season in Victoria. If we stayed again we ask for a room that does not face the main street.
