Location

The hotel is ideally located right across the street from Victoria's largest shopping mall, the Mayfair Shopping Mall. It is only minutes away from downtown Victoria and offers easy access to bus transportation, shopping, restaurants and attractions. A bus stop is located across the street from the hotel.

Facility

13 suites, 20 single rooms and 28 double rooms are available to guests. The reception desk is open round the clock. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a laundry service and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service. Bicycle storage is also available.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, individually adjustable heating and a fan. A balcony or terrace is among the standard features in the rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a queen-sized bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A desk is provided. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a TV, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The hotel has family rooms and 61 non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Guests can recharge and leisurely swim a few laps in the indoor area's heated freshwater pool. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including a gym, table tennis and billiards.

Meals

The hotel includes a restaurant (with high chairs) and a café. A fortifying breakfast is served daily.

    Location was fine. It was nice having the mall across the street, but it's a busy highway so expect traffic noise. We stayed in the cottage and first experience opening the door was the musty old smell, we never got used to it! It's not only themed in the 70s/80s but the smell is that too. Beds were comfortable and clean but it was a little dingy feeling lots of dings on the walls and stains on the furniture and grub buildup in the corners, especially the bathroom. Our toilet broke at one point and although the repair guy came fast and was kind, he left muddy foot prints in the bathroom and we didn't want towels to clean it up as we used all of them to clean the running toilet and he didn't fully fix the toilet either. There is a fire exit door that doesn't have a lock on it from the inside (separate from the main door and down a second floor) this made us feel uncomfortable not being able to lock it on our side but at the bottom of the stairs with a key card access it could be accessed- just didn't make us sleep super well with young kids. It was not our cup of tea and we wouldn't be back.

    This place is tops. I was skeptical as it looks like a refurbished apartment building, which I think it is, but that means the rooms are actually livable. We were pleasantly surprised by the rooms - they are spacious and clean and thoughtfully decorated. All the amenities are there. The restaurant was actually really good. This kids loved the pool and this neat playroom set up. The bus stops out front so we didn’t have to drive anywhere. Staff was great and helpful. It was really just a perfect stay! Highly recommend for families.

    Amazing accessibility at an affordable price

    My husband and I stayed last night at the Victoria branch of hotel Z. As a wheelchair user I was pleasantly surprised by an updated accessible bathroom easy to find parking and accessible restaurant and it was located right in the heart of the city. They had a restaurant attached Ruby which was fantastic for brunch and we were served super quickly on a Sunday during brunch time and there was a huge selection of food. Great quality extremely affordable price would highly recommend

    Pretty decent hotel/motel (our room had its own ground level entrance), all about the vibe. Lots of cool nostalgia 70s/60s stuff around like rughook art on the walls, a comic book and a yo-yo in our room, some funkily painted old VW style vans on the property. They have some boardgames and records in the lobby and all kinds of little old-school knick-knacks and gave us ground coffee for the French press in the room (better than the pods you usually get at hotels). Seems to be an older building but our room was in good shape -- the heater unit was a bit loud but we just turned it off to sleep. They had fresh ground coffee for us. Staff were helpful and professional, bathroom was good and the shower was easy to figure out. It was about a 10 or 15 minute drive from downtown Victoria and had free parking.

    Love this hotel, couldn’t get better Hotel Zed Victoria is the best! Room’s are great, comfortable bed’s, spacious, and with a funky twist. Pool, hot tub, waterslide, and sauna are all excellent! Kid’s love the waterslide. Also Grandma’s basement is so much fun for the whole family. We love that there are also bike’s that can be used by guests. If you are in Victoria and especially with the fam then this is a place you won’t want to miss.
