  Wouldn't Stay Here Again

  - Major construction entirely blocking harbor view, but this fact is not disclosed on their website or in any of their literature. The noise is constant throughout the day- Internet connection is slow and spotty- Temperature in the hotel (and particularly in the breakfast room) is ungodly hot- 4 PM check-in (the latest check-in time I've ever encountered with a hotel) and made no accomodation for us arriving early. We came from Seattle, so we didn't have a time option) Other hotels will request housekeeping to prepare a room when guests have arrived early.- Hotel needs renovation. It appears dated and not in a good way. Lacking basics like USB-C ports, etc. Bathrooms look like something out of the 1980's.- Housekeeping did not clean the shower, since my used washcloth from the previous day was still sitting in the corner- Room keys kept deactivating- Numerous breakfast tables are reserved for larger groups, while couples and singles are confined to squeezed together tables. Should be on first come-first serve basis and no reserved tables. - They need to have some sort of in-house bar. It appears that they had one at some point, but it no longer existsThe positives are that most of the personnel were very nice an the location (despite the contsruction) was convenient to the ferry terminal. We are pleased to hear that you found our team welcoming and our location convenient for the ferry terminal, although we regret that several aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations.Regarding the construction affecting the harbour view, the Belleville Terminal capital project is outside our control and is expected to continue into 2028 or 2029. Information about the project is provided on our website and lobby information screen, and is also available through various municipal and government websites. We understand that the associated noise and changes to the surrounding waterfront can be frustrating, and we understand that this may have affected your experience.Our complimentary Wi-Fi operates on the fastest network available to us, although connection quality can vary depending on network conditions and the number of users. We also recognize your comments regarding the temperature in the hotel, particularly in the breakfast room, and the dated features of some of our accommodations. We are continually reviewing opportunities to improve our facilities.Our standard check-in time is 4:00 PM, which is consistent with common industry practice. When guests arrive early, our front desk team notifies housekeeping and requests that the room be prioritized where possible. However, early access cannot be guaranteed, as it depends on room availability and the cleaning requirements of departing guests.We are concerned to hear about the condition of your shower and apologize that the room was not cleaned to the standard we expect. We also understand your frustration with the room keys. These can occasionally deactivate when kept close to magnetic sources or certain mobile devices, and our front desk team is always available to assist.Regarding breakfast seating, reserved tables are used specifically to accommodate organized groups arriving early in the morning. We intentionally retain the sunlit breakfast area with its garden views for individual guests and couples to enjoy. We appreciate your feedback regarding the seating arrangements and will continue to consider how we can make the space comfortable for everyone.Finally, we appreciate your comments regarding the absence of an in-house bar and the modern amenities you would have liked to see in the rooms.   Lovely Harbour-side Hotel

  We stayed at Huntingdon Hotel on the last night of our Exodus (Windigo) tour. It's a quaint comfortable hotel very conveniently located within easy walking distance of the harbour boat trips, downtown Victoria and restaurants etc. Good buffet breakfast provided.   Two big pluses. First, it was the only hotel in eight cities in Canada that included breakfast. Buffet style in an attractive room that can be crowded seating. Also has an afternoon tea (extra charge) if you wish. Second, it is located about 4-5 blocks from harbor activities and many tourist activities and another 2-3 to shopping, restaurants and bars. Like all standard chains there was no comfortable chair in the room to read, put on shoes, etc. Such a simple thing. Stored our luggage for free for several hours for ferry schedule.   Just an ok stay.

  I was a bit disappointed in our stay here. We loved that they were dog friendly. The room we were given was very basic. Older furniture, but pretty comfortable. Although the pillows on the beds were awful. Staff were very kind. We, unfortunately, had party girls in the room next door. And although there were supposedly quiet hours, no one paid attention. They were loud and very drunk making it hard to get a good night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was quite the setup, but the food wasn't anything special. I guess I expected more due to the fact that the Pendray Tea Room is part of this establishment. The buffet had the basic stuff, that's all. We did appreciate the secure parking, although you have to pay for it. However, I don't think we will return.   Great location, historical setting

  Great location. Central to everything. We walked a few blocks to the Hop on Hop off bus, to public bus service ( took this to Butchart gardens only $3 each way) to the parliament building, the harbor to catch ferry, and about 1/2 mile to whale watching tour. Older hotel with a lot of history. We had breakfast buffet each morning.
