    Great hotel, full of character

    Full of character in a quiet part of Victoria that is in walking distance of the harbour. What more could you ask for! Well, you get a warm welcome from reception, housekeeping and restaurant staff. Yes there is no lift but staff are more than happy to help if you need. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    We stayed here in August—a very old hotel, 150 years old, with four floors and no elevator. We were on the second floor, and the nice gentleman at the front desk carried our suitcases up for us. The room was very quiet, very clean, but not very large. There was one small problem for me: I’m 1.92 m tall, and the bed was at most 1.90 m long. It was 1.40 m wide—nice and cozy when you’re traveling as a couple. All the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. There’s plenty of parking right out front.

    Charming hotel with a charismatic manager

    This is a quant hotel with a homely vibe the hotel manager is charismatic & charming ensuring you have everything you need for a comfortable stay.This isn’t a 5 start hotel but charming homely & very comfortable. Highly recommended. It’s close to downtown but very walkable & surprisingly quiet.

    Staff were very friendly and the place has a nice feel. Room was small but good value for money and within a few minutes walk of the centre of Victoria.     Loved staying at James Bay Inn,everyone so very friendly and helpful.Lovely quaint room ,Edwardian house is beautiful. Has cafe and a really decent pub on premises.
