Our stay was very pleasant, we enjoyed the location, room size was decent enough for 2 adults. Mattress was really king size with extra comfort. No sagging in middle like few places.Neatly stacked kitchenette and cutleries. They oblige for cleaning of room & changing of linens.Only disadvantage was the bathroom. Its so narrow and small, only commode and bathtub could be fitted. Washbasin was placed outside . Overpriced i felt-200 dollars per night for off season is little too much.Compromised ourselves, saying it’s Victoria ??the capital of Beautiful British Columbia.Highly Recommend to stay.Its 40 minutes walk to downtown-3.4kms. We enjoyed walking.They ample free parking space.

I was charged US funds, I am in Canada. I did not go to the US so why was I charged US funds. So pissed off. Please peeps watch and make sure you are not getting scammed.

Good budget hotel

This was our second time staying at this hotel. The staff were friendly, and there was a liquor store and a Chinese restaurant within the same complex. The washroom felt a bit run down compared to the room, but the bed and pillow linens were clean. The room also came with a microwave, an induction/electric stove, and all the necessary kitchen tools and plates. We arrived in Victoria late in the day and couldn’t make it to the farmers’ market to buy fresh seafood to cook in the room. There is only one elevator in the hotel, and it is extremely slow, so we always took the stairs instead of waiting.

The room was clean and the decor updated for a 2-3 star hotel. However, the building is very old and there is NO SOUND PROOFING. People on all sides make a lot of noise. Impossible to sleep.

We waited until late to book a hotel and most were either sold out or prohibitively expensive, so we booked here. Hadn't stayed at a Red Lion in decades! Our room, which was nice and clean if worn, was on the 3rd floor, overlooking the pool with 2 double beds and a small kitchenette (microwave, plug-in induction cooktop that was in the cabinet, coffeemaker and fridge). We didn't cook, but could've, and walking down the hallway, we could smell that others had. Someone made a fish dinner one evening but in our room, with the window open and the evening breeze coming in, that odor was gone within 30 minutes. There were LOTS of towels that were replenished each day (nice) and shampoo, bar soap, and shower caps that were replenished daily. The shower was nice and hot, beds were comfy, sheets felt good, and there was a big portable A/C machine that vented to the outside that was very much appreciated when it got warmer. Maid service was daily. The hotel was a bit of a distance from downtown to walk, but with a car was fine and the parking was good (we got spots easily at all time of day) in high season. There was a lounge and a liquor store nearby which concerned me, but there were no problems (we popped in and looked once, dark and full of older folks, surprisingly!) but didn't get anything. All in all, I'd book it again given the same situation.
