No complaints. Good value. Would stay there again for an overnight before early Royal Jubilee hospital appointment.

Where has this place been all my travels here?

    rating16 Feb 2026

We stayed 4 days. My only complaint is that the walls were dirty by the nightstand, like someone had tossed coffee. Otherwise, they have met my expectations and will definitely return. The customer service was fantastic, the rooms were nicely updated and the price is a complete bargain. Couldn't get into the Sandman so booked here. Where has this place been? New place of accommodations when we are in Victoria and will recommend. Thank you

Not for the week of heart...

    rating08 Jan 2026

I share the same experience although I never got to stay at the hotel even though I paid for the room. I live up island but had been in victoria for work. The road ho.w was icy on the mountain pass with snow and was tired from work and booked a roo. Online. Upon arrival the clerk was friendly enough but I believe I misread his boisterous manner as enthusiasm instead of contempt as things quickly took a nose dive. He asked for my ID and credit card which I gave him but he said they didn't accept my card. I offered another but that card also wasn't recognized by their poli ies he said. I spent nearly an hour on the phone trying to find the booking with Expedia during which time another guest came and checked in. He couldn't help but hear my quandary and offered to supply his credit card to attach to my room. After he paid for his room, he said he'd like to use his card to put the deposit on my room also which the clerk denied. The gracious gentleman then said he'd like to pay for my room with the card which was also not accepted the clerk stating past problems with previous guests. Yes I wasn't dressed up as I'd just finished a tiling job but discrimination was clearly the problem here especially seeing as the other guest wasn't told until after he'd checked in and the stony look the clerk gave him was something ill never forget. Instead of booking a room elsewhere, my self esteem , battered as it is from the encounter will join me in researching discrimination laws in bc. Now that I've read other reviews of dispreairand insect infestations I'll sleep better knowing I won't have to deal with that also. Shameful...

I’d rather sleep in my car

    rating03 Jan 2026

Would not recommend, I hate to leave a bad review as I’m worried about being mean and I hate that. However this was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. I have also stayed at several hotels in the past. So I have a pretty good comparison scale on what I would say is a decent spot to rest my head at night for not only myself but also my family’s. Let me start off by saying the price was fantastic but I guess the value for price ratio checks out here. When I called to make a reservation I told the guy who took my call I have children and was hoping for a bigger room. When we got there we were put in a shoebox. I’m sorry but I feel like this room was originally a closet. It was very small. I asked if we could be moved to a bigger room. The person at the front desk said she wasn’t sure who took our reservation but we couldn’t have that many people in the room. I was like yeah we don’t want to be in this room it is too small. She said we were out of luck and had to make it work for multiple day’s because that is all they had available. So we did! It wasn’t a good time but we had to do what we had to do. First night of our stay 2:00-3:00am constant yelling, laughing, banging, stuff being thrown around in the parking lot. I asked the people if they could keep it down. Did I mention we had to sleep with the window open because there wasn’t an ac and the room was stifling hot. The designated smoking area was also right below our room. So we had to decide between burning up or breathing in smoke. Next morning we wake up to an infestation of ants. All over the room, tables, beds, floors. I told the front desk lady of our issues and she was less than helpful. She told me not to talk to anyone in the parking lot. That it is a dangerous area to be in. If we had anymore problems we needed to leave. I did speak to the general manager and he basically said there wasn’t much that could be done. We accepted this was how it was going to be. While making the best of our time in Victoria. Let my misery be your own warning. The lobby also smelled really strongly of axe body spray.
