    Went there for my wife's Birthday. 6 other couples joined us there. We had a fun filled Happy Hour in the bar the venue was just perfect for the 14 of us. The bar manager was great and looked after all our needs. We then went to dinner and our table was perfect We had a private alcove, the food was delicious and we were all served to gether not an easy feat. Kudos to the kitchen staff. I highly recommend this venue for small or parties such as ours. If you going to be staying in Nanaimo book your stay here you will not be disappointed .     Grand? How about okay.

    Last minute booking. Maybe she was having a bad day, but the front desk woman was surly. I had a bit of a wait and politely said she could use some help but was told she didn't need help if people (me) knew what they were doing when they booked. I had booked a garden suite but got the 3rd floor. Not a big deal, just not what I had booked. Room was average.     Check in girl was a rude obnoxious individual. Sorry you are short staffed but don't take it out on your guests.     Great stay!

    Fantastic older hotel. Victorian charm, spacious room and good amenities. Room had a kitchenette, which was really handy and a huge soaker tub as well as nice toiletries. Bed was super comfortable, and the room was very clean. There was a lounge in a restaurant downstairs, but we didn’t have a chance to use them. One guest I met in the elevator, said they were fantastic. I would definitely book here again.     This hotel is an older ok hotel in north nanaimo. The room was spacious but the floor under the carpet was very uneven. The pillows on the king bed were ridiculously small - more the size of cushions. The shower hadn't been cleaned before we checked in. They offered to clean it but we had already had our showers. They gave us a $49.88 credit. The restaurant isn't open for breakfast at all, brunch on Sat & Sun apparently but we weren't there on those days. It also wasn't open for dinner on mon.
