    Terrible customer service and people ethics

    This place is sketchy. Stayed with a friend here a week ago, and things went well because he was a Man.Do they take Virtual Visa Debit for a deposit? And how much. I was quoted " yes they do and a deposit of $250 is required.Well last night, when I checked in I was given nothing but grief. Sita tries to charge me for $300. I corrected her. Today I spoke with manager about this. And was told that was. Cause she "thought" I was drinking?In actuality I have pneumonia and needed a safe place to stay. After explaining my situation to the manager. She made me feel a whole lot less at ease. So what the deposit varies by their own one sided thinking This place is nothing but excuses. After talking with the manager and telling her I was sick with pneumonia and extending my stay, I only activated 1 card. I went to my room to get some rest. Thank God I put the bar lock on, cause an hour later someone opened my door to get in. So I had to get up and go downstairs to find out who and why they didn't knock first? This place is a joke. If the hospital weren't so close I would leave. But see I am very sick and need to be close to the hospital.This place has left me sick. Sick to see all of these ignorant immigrants, coming here and taking a job. I will never recommend this place to anyone. The manger is weak and a side faced talker. Don't get me wrong I am not racist. But I give credit where credit is due. Now it's too late, Bowmanville and Canada. Unless u are a man, good luck renting a room here fairly. I believe me I was never racist before but this place reeks of judgment and lies. I will let everyone I know and that wants to hear, just how bad this Place is. Thoroughly disgusted in the system.     The Management Needs To Address Concerns Effectively

    We have stayed at this location previously and it was always consistent Comfort Inn quality with their typical heated breakfast and decent coffee. The staff has always been very pleasant. We stayed here in September to be close for our daughter's wedding the next day, and the room temperature was 26C and climbing. The staff came into our room several times trying to fix the air conditioner without success. There were no other rooms, so I asked them to call the Holiday Inn next door to book us a replacement room there - they called and advised us there was a room but would not book it for us. It was gone when we called a few minutes later. We were left with no choice but to tolerate a very poor night's sleep in an excessively hot room. Morning staff was not aware of the issue, so I have no confidence it would have been resolved prior to the next customer. Felt as though they were allowing the building the become run down.We called the hotel manager / assistant manager a few days later and were advised the best they could offer us was 3,000 points or a 15% discount. Having the issue and a horrible night's sleep was bad enough; having it minimized with a negligible compensation offer was insulting. We complained the Choice Hotels with a better resolution, but this should have been dealt with at the hotel level.     Complete Cash Grab & Poor Customer Service

    Booked a trip to the Comfort Inn & Suites for a baseball tournament in Clarington from June 20 to 21 on Expedia. We were not sure we would have enough players to field a teams so when I was booking I specifically paid an extra $22 for a fully refundable room up until June 6th. When I attempted to cancel the room on May 29th I was informed that it was non-refundable and I would not get any money back. Following Expedia's notes I contacted the hotel. After more than 24 hours I received a message from the Comfort Inn property that they will not issue a refund and to contact Expedia. I contacted Expedia and they contacted the hotel again but they still refused to issue a refund. Based on the ridiculous price of $247 per night for a 2 star hotel you would expect that the demand is higher than the supply so they should be able to resell the room. This is obviously nothing more than a cash grab. I will never use Expedia again or stay in a Comfort Inn or any other affiliated hotels.     Bowmanville Location Sucks

    An absolute gong show! The hotel was full of kids and their parents probably there for hockey tournament. The kids were playing actual hockey in the hallway with sticks and nets; while the parents were all drinking. They let the kids run all through the hotel on every floor while they stayed on the first floor.The night came to a head when I had a verbal battle with the parents as kids were kicking walls and doors next to our room. This was happening after 9PM and it needed to be addressed by someone mature. I called the parents out for being absent and accountable for their kids' actions.The concierge did absolutely nothing to calm down all of the noise by the other hockey parents and kids. He stayed in the back office the entire night looking at television screens. It's unfortunate that it took a guest to handle the situation so my family could sleep.Do NOT stay here!     Clean, basic stay

    Pros- clean rooms, large King size rooms, tv I could turn the volume up on, friendly staff, easy to find off of highwayCons- breakfast starts too late at 7am so didn't get to eat here.
