    Safety Concerns

    rating06 Jan 2026

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Beyond cleanliness issues, we experienced serious safety concerns, including being locked in a stairwell with no working key access and no response from the front desk. The hotel has since failed to engage in resolving the issue, despite repeated contact attempts through Expedia. This is not a property I would consider safe or professionally managed. Not suitable for Kids with Families

    rating11 May 2025

We went for a sports function. It was an inappropriate location for kids and families. The area is unsafe and the hotel was used as a homeless shelter. We encountered many homeless people inside the front desk and in the hallways, really not a nice vacation experience. There was also a security guard at times throughout our stay. In addition, the hotel was under major renovations but we were not told that earlier. Just that there were no pool available. It was a disaster zone. Elevators were full of construction materials and workers going in and out. Rubbish and materials everywhere and wet paint signages. Unsafe for everyone. We were not compensated and front desk and she was extremely rude. We also had a double queen but was changed to a king and sofa bed and they said too bad, we are sold out. Just the worse service ever. No kettles were available but there was a working microwave and fridge. Bathrooms and floors were clean. The food service staff was accommodating.

    Downtown Winnipeg hotel under renovations

    rating23 Mar 2025

My rating is based on being here during construction.. spent the weekend here while visiting Winnipeg and attending a Winnipeg jets game . This was my first time in Winnipeg or Manitoba. The hotel is right downtown walking distance to the Arena Canada life centre. Some of the area seems a little unsafe but didn’t have any issues just a general sense of the area .. our room was newly renovated but some issues like the door to separate the bedroom and living room area didn’t close but otherwise nice spacious room clean with a nice view . The lobby area was under construction as well so hard to say how it will be once finished .. I would stay again if needed but prefer once construction is finished..

    Dump in downtown Winnipeg.

    rating24 Feb 2025

What a dump. Terrible. Dirty. Under construction. Door knobs falling off. We checked out after one night of a booked 3 night stay. Getting a refund is proving difficult. Definitely not up to Holiday Inn Standards. A hotel chain in decline…?? Hotel decent despite area around it

    rating07 Aug 2024

Hotel is located right in downtown Winnipeg. The area around it is not the best, in fact people hang out on the benches outside the hotel on the property. Parking is in the garage next door or a lot over, both are for a nightly fee. Checking in, the woman at the desk flat out told me to take all my valuables out of the car, because there have been several break ins lately. That’s not what I wanted to hear! There is a constant security guard in the lobby, and doors are locked without a keycard.I was given a room on a higher floor which I prefer. View of the city was nice. Slept well both nights, did not encounter the noise others have reported. Water pressure in shower is weak, room was clean, overall standard Holiday Inn room. There is an onsite restaurant which I did not use. I didn’t get to use the pool either because it opened too late and closed too early for my schedule.Room was about $120US for both nights. Despite being downtown, it’s cheaper than many in Winnipeg because of the area around it. I didn’t have any issues, but keep that in mind when you go out at night.Car was unharmed.
