    Total disappointment for the panoramic appartment

    We spent 2400€ for an 8 days stay in this hotel, for 3 people. It's a lot of money and it was supposed to be the highlight of our trip to Cabo Verde. The main reason why we chose this apartment was the view and the private swimming pool.The view is beautiful, but the swimming pool was unusable most of the time : very dirty, with yellow stains on the walls and more and more cloudy. In a word, disgusting.The problem is we asked for the cleaning of the pool or repair of the filtering system like every day. And each day it was supposed to be solved, a person was supposed to get there and solve the problem. And each time nobody showed up. The problem was solved only the day before we left !We asked for a refund, but the only offer we got was not to pay the laundry, which was a neglectible refund in comparison with what we paid for this hotel. We asked to complain to the owner, but the owner was unreachable, in another country, ill, etc. The management took my email and said that they would get in touch with us after we left, which of course never happened.I could mention also other problems, less serious but that still show that this hotel is overpriced : one day the water pressure was so low it was impossible to shower. It took more than one day to solve the problem ! So my advice is : do not choose this hotel. It's the price of a luxury hotel, but certainly not the service of a luxury hotel.

    Well positioned between the beach, main downtown and the ferry terminal. All easily walkable. Room was comfortable. The legendary view is absent from first floor rooms (it’s mainly a lemon tree and a wall). Possibly second floor rooms get above the neighbors roof. Staff are brilliant. Helpful, pleasant, had good ideas for places to listen to music/eat out. Breakfast ok. Dining room pleasant. With the heat of the country, the pool was amazing at the end of the day

    I can recommend this hotel in Mindelo. It feels new and fresh. It's extremely convenient for the ferry and the town. The staff are smart, pleasant, and helpful.The breakfast is good with the best bread outside France. You won't get hungry. Recently T/A was reporting the restaurant as closed, but it isn't. The food is not bad.We took the apartment room which is on the top floor. It's expensive for Cape Verde and not perfect, but where in Europe can you get a harbour view apartment with massive terrace and your own rooftop pool for Euro200! The other rooms are of course, loads cheaper. The air con is constant. We loved it.While we were there, there was a group of government guest Americans. I think if the government puts their guests there it must be OK.

    I was on vacation and in Cape Verde with some friends and I went to the restaurant in November 2022. I did not like the restaurant service, I ordered a seafood rice in your own way, but I did not like it, it was not well made.

    We have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Blue Marlin. We had a fabulous time. We had the top apartment which had a huge terrace with sun loungers and a pool on the roof. We did think we would have full use of the kitchen in the apartment but this was not the case nothing was connected and there was no cutlery etc. The apartment was really clean and the staff were wonderful. The air conditioning worked a treat. We ate in the restaurant a few times and also had room service. We absolutely loved the island itself and the fishing was amazing.I did feel bad though as when we left we thought we had paid the bill on booking but we hadn't so sorry to the guy on reception who had to deal with my rant at 5AM.
