Terrible service in the restaurant. Waited for one hour before the waiter took our order.Waited another 30 minutes for the food. The rooms are worn down and really need some renovation.Terrible quality on the TV.Not one international channel to watch, only Spanish language.

    Eye Watering Prices

    rating05 Jan 2026

This hotel is significantly overpriced for what it is. We stayed here without choosing the hotel specifically because it was included as part of the price for our Antarctica tour ; that said, we had friends not going on our tour who came to Punta Arenas and tried to book the hotel to stay with us but decided against because of the hotel's eye watering prices. They stayed somewhere else nearby instead. Our room was entirely forgettable and devoid of any local touch. The bathroom had the dreaded shower in a tub and the problem was that the curtain was too light and was constantly blowing inside the tub because the weights (or magnets) at the bottom were not sufficient. The only positive was the lack of carpet plus the fact that heating worked well.Breakfast was nothing luxury but at least it had some decent options which stood out such as sauteed vegetables and some berries. I cannot even say that service was good in the hotel. We wanted to borrow a coffee kettle to boil water to disinfect our baby milk bottles, which is available in almost all hotels where we travel except the most bare bones hotels, but our request was denied. They said they only had one in the entire hotel and that we if wanted to use it, we had to come in the kitchen. They refused that we borrow it for only 5 minutes in our room and bring it back.A few years ago we stayed at Hotel Jose Nogueira in Punta Arenas and we found that one significantly better than Diego de Almagro so if we had to pay from our own pocket I would not hesitate one bit, I would not return to Diego de Almagro.

The curtains couldn’t close and do to the sunset being at three in the morning we couldn’t sleep at all.I understand that I received what I paid for.

    Comfortable

    rating30 Dec 2025

The hotel was perfect to start our Antarctica journey. We arrived extremely tired after 24 hours of flights, but were able to get our room early, where we got some well needed rest. Our expedition included one night at the Dreams hotel before starting our trip. But it was never available for the days leading up to it, so this hotel was very close. The rooms were quite nice ... the beds that is. The bathroom, well, could use some tlc. The shower curtain was the cheapest piece of plastic that you could buy. And it wanted to stick to you the entire shower, if you were able to get under the most oddly positioned shower head I've ever seen. Water was luke warm at best. I don't think I had one 'hot' shower.Breakfast was very good. Great selection of eats you would find in Europe, North America, etc.All and all, very clean and convenient. Just the shower situation was pretty bad.
