    Not a Hilton Double Tree!

    Being a Hilton person has been a statement for many years. Its not that you expect luxury or fancy arrangements, you expect a certain quality of service everytime and everywhere. Unfourtunately this place is not the case. The name might be Hilton Double Tree. But its not a Hilton! I used to be Hotel Cumbres and despite of having been aquired years ago by Hilton it still keeps the bad systems of its predecessor. Everything in the background seems to be Cumbres more than Hilton, even the Invoice on your creditcard says Hotel Cumbres (fact). I would therefore not recommend to stay here.

    My husband and me stayed here for four nights. We wanted to see Santiago before and after going to Vina Del Mar for one week during our winter holiday at home. The staff in the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The waiter, Mr. Mauro, served us for breakfast and dinner and he was very kind and professional. We even could speak German with each other since we do not speak Spanish. The staff in the reception was polite and understanding when we discovered that we had booked for the wrong month. They helped us to make a new reservation and we got the money back from hotels.com. That was very nice of them since we were exhausted after 1,5 day of traveling from Oslo Norway. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with many choices of healthy food. The view from the restaurant was fantastic. The room was clean and large and the beds perfect for our taste. The gym was clean and well equipped with enough space on the floor to do exercises on the mat. I wished they had more manuals between four to 25 kilos. That would be easy to get. Either the manuals were to heavy or too light. The hotel has a very nice pool area with sunbeds. I would suggest they buy five - six more beds since many people had to lie on the hard floor and there were more space. The waiters served cold drinks and delicious smoothies. Sorry to say but the sandwiches we ordered at the pool were dry and tasteless. That was disappointing. Some of the staff did not speak English but then we used google translate. We really could recommend this hotel. And it was easy to get uber transportation to the places we wanted to visit.

    I called for a dinner reservation at Glass 17,was confirmed..Went there,was told no reservation..No Dinner..I have dined there many times,had good food and service,was great staff as well..I was planning on going there more often with a larger party,too bad,no mas..

    This was a good hotel in a great location. A 15 minute easy and safe walk to Parque Aruco mall where there is lots of shopping and places to eat. The Turistik tours also pick up from the mall, so that is very convenient.The hotel itself was clean and modern. The staff were all very friendly and professional. The only problem I encountered was that for much of my three day stay, not all of the elevators were work all of the time. For one day, only one of the three elevators was working. Other times there were two working elevators, which seemed to be adequate.
