Location

This hotel is located within walking distance of the city of Santiago's civic centre. There, guests will find Government House and its national monuments as well as convention and cultural centres and shopping areas. The metro is also located nearby. It is a 10-minute walk to the Palacio de la Moneda and 15 minutes on foot to the Cathedral of Santiago and the Plaza de Armas. Guests will find the nearest restaurant 20 minutes' walk away in the district of Bellavista and it is also 20 minutes on foot to the Museo de Bellas Artes, while the central market is a 25-minute walk from the hotel. The nearest beach is just over 1 1/2 hours' drive away at Viña del Mar, and it is also 1 1/2 hours' drive to the ski region of Valle Nevado.

Facility

146 rooms, including 9 junior suites, 97 single rooms and 28 double rooms, are located on 11 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The pool complex includes both indoor and outdoor pools, which are in part heated. Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation.     Stayed for 3 nights at the start and one night at the end of our trip to Chile. Staff were friendly and helpful. Decor was not to our taste, dark and dated. Shower worked well. Wi-Fi good. Good location with restaurants within walking distance. Many tourist sites within walking distance and the hop on hop off bus stops nearby. Water didn’t appear to be complementary. Service in the rooftop bar was painfully slow. Service in the restaurant a bit hit and miss. Food at the evening meal we had there was nothing special.Breakfast was not great, but there were building works and it wasn’t being served in the breakfast room. On our final night at the and of the holiday it was being served in the breakfast room and was much better.To sum up, service was good, staff attentive, it did nothing wrong but it lacked a wow factor.     We made the hotel a base for our travels in Chile. The location is ideal--walking distance from many attractions and easy to get to. The staff are warm and welcoming. We used to go to the reception desk with various questions, and they were unfailingly helpful. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. This a hotel that we would go back to--it had become a home away from home!     I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Plaza San Francisco in the heart of Santiago, and I can confidently say it is a hotel that combines tradition, elegance, and impeccable service.The property has a classic charm, yet everything is exceptionally well maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the facilities — including the gym, spa, and pool — are of a very high standard.However, what truly stood out during my stay was an experience at the spa that reflects the highest level of professionalism and integrity I have ever encountered anywhere in the world.I had booked a massage, and upon arrival, the therapist kindly asked if I had any injuries or discomfort. After I explained an existing shoulder issue, she carefully assessed the situation and, with great professionalism and care, advised that it would not be appropriate for me to proceed with the treatment.She took the time to explain her reasoning in detail and, most importantly, chose honesty and my well-being over performing the service.
