    Better Than Expected

    rating03 Nov 2025

We stayed here for our final days of our tour with GAdventures, and it was miles better than the reviews suggest. We had slummed it a tiny bit over our 2 months in South America so maybe that's clouded my opinion a bit, but still...we found a tiny room with a toilet that I had to reverse into like a delivery van in a tight cul-de-sac, but the room itself it was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. All through South America we'd experienced various levels of quality during breakfast, so I was delighted to find a coffee machine that provided more than brown grit and they had some Euro-style pastries. They weren't the best in the world but they were a welcome surprise. The staff were all friendly, well-presented and spoke good English (I'm afraid our Spanish skills are typically British...) and the hotel looked quite nice generally. Unlike other places we'd stayed, the shower was reliably warm - it's amazing what simple things you crave after a few weeks. The hotel is also located in a safe area with various restaurants and bars and just a short walk to the nearest Metro station (Manuel Montt). We extended our stay by a couple of days to give us a chance to explore the city before moving on, and even though we booked it through the tour company the price (~£50 per night) wasn't unreasonable at all, especially given how expensive Santiago (and Chile generally) is compared to Bolivia. We also got slightly lucky and witnessed a couple of lovely sunsets from our window!

    A 3*** stay

    rating01 Aug 2024

I have stayed for ten days in this hotel in the occasion of an academic conference.I would definitely give more than 2** to this hotel, which is located in a semi-central, very vibrant (and safe) area of Santiago (few minutes walk from the Manuel Montt metro station, in an area full of restaurants, cafes and campuses). Some features definitely deserve 4****, whilst other would be a 2**. Hence the 3*** evaluation. 4*:- Location- Cleaniness- Kindness of reception/room staff- Quality/price ratio3*: The breakfast. If not included, it is priced 9,900 chilean pesos per person. The buffet is fairly varied, however only for those who do not have vegan/no-dairy requests (i.e. they do not have any soy milk or dairy-free yogurt and cheese options). Nevertheless there are some very good (and cheaper) breakfast options in the area, i.e. a colombian café right in front of the hotel, or a Starbucks around the corner where you can have breakfast for less.2*:- Check-in time: after 15/3pm, with very little possibility of more flexible check-in even though arriving with very early flights and letting them know in advance, as in our case. Yet you have to pay for the full day, and an extra in case they grant you early check-in. - The spaces in the rooms are quite little; there is no proper wardrobe, no space where you can leave the luggage. If you have more than one/or big ones like us it can be quite uncomfortable. Besides, the "bathroom" layout (the shower and the basin are basically inside the bedroom) can also be kind of uncomfortable for those looking for even a little bit of bathroom routines' intimacy;- Cleaning hours: after leaving very early in the morning, we can back to the hotel in the afternoon (around 4pm) and found staff that was cleaning our room at that time. IMHO it is a bit too late, especially if you have been out of the room (with the "please come in" sign on the door) basically all day.All of this said, this would again be my choice if coming back to Santiago! A good all round budget hotel.

    rating02 Mar 2024

Stayed as part of a g adventures tour in South America. Very clean rooms. Very comfortable beds with good WiFi and good showers. Albeit they are a bit odd if you are sharing with a stranger as they are a semi frosted door. Good friendly staff and good base for Santiago. Good air con too which is a must! Very comfortable and clean. I could have used a cup and a fan in the small toilet area. The breakfast had many options paninis and oatmeal and yogurt with fresh fruit. Close to all amenities a grocery store and star bucks. Yours available we did a wine tour to concha e toro it was very enjoyable Gabriel Camera, Director General at Ibis Budget Santiago Providencia, responded to this review Dear Nancy:We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the hotel. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback. Breakie was relatively good.WiFi was strong. However the twin room beds are so small, very little room to move and the toilet… well tiny!! Also room floor was unclean.
