Too expensive for the overall experience

    rating13 May 2026

Very expensive to find out the hot water was not working on the showers. As an international traveler from US or Europe, getting to Chile means 10+ hour flights. For the price of this hotel, they could at least warn arriving travelers. When I went to the front desk they said “oh yeah lots of rooms are like that, and we don’t know when it will come back” Soci Assist, Other at Intercontinental Santiago By IHG, responded to this review Hi Fernando R,We sincerely regret that your experience with the hot water did not meet your expectations. We understand how important a hot shower is after a long trip. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and improve communication with our guests. Thank you for your patience and understanding.- The Staff at InterContinental Santiago

No water in morning, slow elevator… but fantastic breakfast

    rating30 Apr 2026

There was no water in the building for hours this morning, and the elevators are very slow as they are being refurbished. So that diminished our two-day stay. It’s a sprawling hotel in a prime location. The breakfast buffet is spectacular. The hotel has several trip hazards… random steps throughout the lobby and even as you enter the public restroom. So exercise caution.

    Stay somewhere else, anywhere else.

This once grand hotel is being “cash cowed” by its owner. Black mold in the bathroom, dirty carpets, worn out furnishings, HVAC not working, filthy windows, sewer gas smell and more, Gustavo A, Propietario at Intercontinental Santiago By IHG, responded to this review We sincerely regret that your experience did not meet expectations. Please be assured that your concerns were addressed during your stay, and your comments have been reviewed with our leadership team to reinforce our standards and ongoing maintenance efforts. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving.Warm regards,

    High-quality hotel and service

    rating31 Mar 2026

I stayed in this hotel with a tour group. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are spacious and comfortable and housekeeping is excellent. Our guide told us we were staying in the lower-priced wing but whatever is in the pricier rooms, I can live without it. My room had many electrical outlets as well as a couple of USB ports on the desk. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with a lot of variety although some people in the group said the guacamole was tasteless. (I didn’t try it.) Service was very attentive. They have a machine that dispenses hot beverages of your choice but when I got up to refill my cup a waiter insisted on getting it for me. Nando, the waiter on our first day there, was very friendly ad spoke excellent colloquial English. Both mornings our waiters strongly encouraged us to submit reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, directing us to the card on the table with a QR code.I did not try the pool but the gym had brand-new high-tech equipment that communicated with my Apple watch. Getting to the gym on the 18th floor or the pool on the 19th took some doing. Only the elevators in the high-priced section go that far and not every elevator in that bank does, so check the panel before the doors close on you. You also cannot select those floors unless you get a separate key card for those floors at the front desk. No charge, fortunately. One woman in our group noted that the sauna must be reserved in advance and later when she showed up at the appointed time they told her she had to wait because the entrance is in through the men's locker room and there were men in the gym. There was a large selection of weights and machines but not many of each machine. This was no problem since I was the only one using the gym at the time. One very pleasant surprise: they had an extensive selection of jewelry in the gift shop and it was not overpriced. Our group visited in the morning, bought a few things, went to a craft market in the afternoon and bought more- and a few went back into the hotel shop to make more purchases when we got back! Our group had a farewell dinner at Basta Pasta, one of the hotel restaurants. It was acceptable but nothing impressive. I will cover that in a separate review. Gustavo A, Propietario at Intercontinental Santiago By IHG, responded to this review Dear,Thank you very much for your detailed feedback. We are pleased to know you enjoyed our facilities, comfortable rooms, and the attentive service from our team, especially Nando. We also appreciate your comments regarding breakfast, gym access, and spa facilities, which we will review internally as part of our continuous improvement. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.Warm regards,
