    Good consistent Marriott property

    rating23 Apr 2026

The room was good. I had access to the concierge lounge which was very good and convenient. Our breakfast was included and we could use the lounge or the restaurant. We finally went to the restaurant for breakfast and it was great big selection and good service. The concierge service was a little lacking maybe because our Spanish is very limited but they tried to sell us on one of their drivers for a tour and we spoke to him but it was not at all what we were looking for he seemed t say he could do any tour which meant he could drive us. We booked our own tours. I did get a late checkout 4 as a titanium member but could not get any later. The gym was small but good. We did go to the top floor for a drink after dinner one night for the view which was nice but the drinks were expensive. Location was good within a few blocks there were lots of really good restaurants which we walked to. There is also a huge mall that is only a few blocks away. There were a few glitches with the room like a blinking light, they let not leaving washcloths and the tv didn’t work the entire time even though they worked in it. There were cords hanging down from the tv that looked ugly too and they never fixed that. Overall a good property might stay again for location.

The hotel feels outdated and poorly maintained,

    rating25 Mar 2026

I had a very disappointing stay at the Marriott Santiago. For a hotel that charges over $400 per night and claims to be a five-star property, the level of maintenance and cleanliness was far below expectations. The room was visibly dirty. There were spider webs and even a spider next to the headboard of the bed. The wallpaper was old, peeling, and covered in dust. The air conditioning unit was outdated, extremely noisy, and the vent was full of dirt. The floor was not properly cleaned, and the plumbing was old and very loud. The bathroom drains clogged repeatedly during my stay. The hallways were also in poor condition, with old, swollen wallpaper that made the entire hotel feel neglected and poorly maintained.Service details were equally disappointing. At one point I was given a yogurt “to go” with only a fork and knife because the hotel didn’t have a spoon available. In the rooms, basic amenities such as tea and coffee were not replenished unless specifically requested.During an event at the hotel, the restrooms near the ballroom became clogged, forcing guests to wait in long lines just to use the bathroom. This created an uncomfortable situation during what should have been a well-managed event.Overall, the property feels outdated, poorly maintained, and far from what one would expect from a five-star Marriott hotel. Charging more than $400 per night for facilities in this condition is simply unacceptable. A very disappointing experience. Tomás Catrileo, Guest Services / Front Office at Santiago Marriott Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry for the disappointing experience you had during your stay with us. What you describe is far from the standards we aim to provide, and we sincerely regret that your visit did not reflect the quality and comfort you rightfully expected. We would like to share that, as of January this year, the hotel began a full renovation of all guest rooms and public areas. This comprehensive project is estimated to be completed within approximately 18 months. Many of the issues you mentioned—such as the condition of the wallpaper, plumbing, air conditioning units, and overall room maintenance—are precisely what this renovation is intended to resolve. That said, the renovation does not excuse the lapses in cleanliness and basic service you encountered. Cleanliness should always meet the highest standards, regardless of the property’s renovation status. Please rest assured that your comments have been reported directly to our Housekeeping Manager so immediate corrective measures can be taken to prevent situations like this from happening again. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve and deliver the level of hospitality our guests deserve. We hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide you with a much better and renewed experience.Warm regards,

    hotel staff stole items

    rating12 Feb 2026

nice hotel, but BEWARE their staff will steal your items. we had my wife's diamond ring taken, and we know it was while we were at dinner. we came back and had new water bottles and towels, but when we returned ring was gone as well as several hundred dollars in cash. i know we should have used safe, but we were only going out to eat, it seemed a secure hotel and we didn't expect anyone in room. reported the theft promptly but the manager didn't seem to care much. they asked us not to report to police until they had a chance to investigate, so we waited a day. they apparently did no investigation. we asked if they had identified the person who went in our room (there was a camera in hall) but they didn't see a need to question that person. we then wasted 4 hours filing a police report. we didn't really expect to have our items returned, but the hotel's response was pathetic. i suspect this happens frequently based on their attitude. so if you stay here, use safe! Fantastic Marriott Hotel!

    rating05 Feb 2026

We stayed here three nights before a cruise. Arriving totally exhausted from Florida, our driver from Marriott was waiting for us. We were really lucky to check in around noon and the front desk attendant, Victor, was nice to upgrade us to a large corner suite, 2108. The hotel is older, as was our suite however we appreciated the space. Only drawback was the noisy highway down below. Housekeeping was excellent. The executive lounge was great!! Many selections of food and we had a couple of Chilian wines to choose from. One of the best Marriott lounges we have ever been to. A mall was a block away and convenient to get last minute toiletries before our cruise. At the mall is a steakhouse, La Caraba, which had incredible steaks for reasonable prices. Marriott arranged a driver to take us to the port. The price was around $225 and worth every dollar. We would definitely stay here again. Tomás Catrileo, Guest Services / Front Office at Santiago Marriott Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review of your recent stay with us. We are delighted to know that you chose Santiago Marriott Hotel for your pre‑cruise visit and that our team was able to provide you with a warm welcome after your long trip from Florida. It is wonderful to hear that Victor assisted you with an early check‑in and a complimentary upgrade to our corner suite. We truly appreciate your kind comments regarding our housekeeping team and are pleased that you enjoyed our Executive Lounge—your recognition means a great deal to us.We are glad that our location, just steps away from the mall, added convenience to your stay, and that you had the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine at La Caraba. It is also gratifying to know that the transportation arranged by our team contributed to a smooth and comfortable journey to the port. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the noise from the nearby highway. We value your feedback, as it helps us continually improve the experience for our guests. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we are truly grateful for your recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you back whenever your travels bring you to Santiago again.Warm regards,

Generous Suite Upgrade but Housekeeping Needs Improvement

    rating31 Jan 2026

Our stay was a mixed bag here.  As Bonvoy Ambassador Elite we received a generous upgrade to Executive Suite Corner, one category short of presidential, which was great.  But for such a large suite over 90sqm, only one toilet was just strange.  The hotel is somewhat aging, but at least they renovated so no carpet.  Unfortunately housekeeping does not seem to know they should clean that floor with water once in a while, not only vacuum?  Our children socks were so dirty.  Yuck.  Unlike the Renaissance Santiago lounge, the lounge at Marriott was crowded, loud, and unpleasant.  Cold food was very nice but no hot food at all which is not impressive. Drinks were only wine and beer, also unimpressive   It was the weakest lounge we have seen in Santiago - another better lounge which comes to mind in a similar price range is InterContinental Santiago. One positive was breakfast in the restaurant which was quite nice with many local dishes, in fact breakfast was even nicer than at the far more expensive Ritz Carlton.
