    Unusual…both good and bad

    The Fauna hotel is really quirky. Just be aware there is no vehicle access to the hotel so be prepared to drag suitcases along a few cobbled streets. Also the building is on multiple levels & there is no lift so be warned. I upgraded from a standard to a superior room & the upside is a magnificent view over the town & harbour but that’s about it. The room is nothing special. We had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant but it was chilly in the dinning room! For dinner I had Atún acevichado ( Tuna Cheviiche) which was possibly the best food I have eaten in years so the chef deserves a pay rise!!

    The room is perfect for a couple. It's clean, spacious, and comfortable. Its location is great, too. Cerro Alegre is full of cafés, restaurants, shops, and beautiful murals.The 24/7 reception is also great. Every receptionist was attentive and friendly.The room was clean and spacious with a big bathroom and a great view of the hills.The rooftop restaurant has amazing food. I highly recommend the Chilean seaweed ceviche, it was delicious! The view of the hills and Valparaíso Bay was amazing, too.I would recommend it!

    Good hotel in a great location, rooms well appointed and the restaurant has a nice terrace with great views over the city. Only downside is that breakfast does not start until 8am which is pretty late for a hotel breakfast.

    This is a unique hotel with a strong design theme in a very cute area, and a few steps from a funicular. I couldn't believe my eyes at how attractive the path to the hotel was. I booked a suite with an expectation that the rooms were larger than my room was - I even asked the staff if my room was actually a suite! But once I became used to it, the room was fine and comfortable. While it didn't matter too much to me, the room did not have a wardrobe/closet or a desk. The hotel does have several breakout areas with comfortable couches etc.The hotel restaurant on the roof has excellent food and, in good weather, is a spectacular setting.

    We stayed two nights and really enjoyed it. Staff were super helpful, restaurant had great views over the city and delicious food. We ate lunch and dinner there. Our room was authentic and simple. Beware that there are no lifts so heavy suitcases slightly challenging. It is situated near the vehicular so all ok for visiting the bay.
