  Nice hotel

  Check in was great as was service at breakfast most days. The room was spacious and pretty nice although shower smelled and looked a little moldy. Location offered an ocean view although I would choose a place of higher elevation and closer to more restaurants next time.   I have to state that this was a nice hotel. A little out dated rooms but ok. But the major shock for us was that the housekeeping stole from our luggage. This is not a hotel you can leave your belongings in. Maybe if their install a safebox that can keep all your luggage ok.The stole very expensive sunglasses/ tennis stuff we bought and more.Forget that they care, they know as after this happened we checked and more people reported and same experience as ours.   A Good but not Great Beach Hotel

  The Sheraton Miramar is in an absolutely stunning location and is the only hotel near the center of Vina del Mar directly on the ocean. All the rooms as far as I can tell have a direct view out to the ocean. Sitting out on the balcony watching the sun go down with a glass of wine is wonderful. Being summer, we slept extremely well with the door open with the sounds of the ocean as background.The hotel itself has a couple of rough edges in terms of staff training and maintenance. The morning breakfast buffet gets ridiculously crowded at times and the presentation and selection is just okay. The service at the pool can be inattentive with long waits for drink and food service. The upper patio bar is much better in this regard and is great for a snack or lunch.As I said above, some of the maintenance is a bit behind with various furnishings in the rooms and common areas looking a bit tired. However, the fundamentals were solid with decent sized rooms and comfortable beds.Would I return? Maybe as the location can't be beat but I wish the hotels management would invest a bit more to make to bring it up to the level that its site warrants.   One pod of decaf coffee and one pod of non decaf in room and only one creamer per couple. Cleanliness is ok toiletries ok. Dont expect to eat at outside cafe by the sea as it is packed with people hogging seats in the evening. The staff are not helpful trying to accommodate you and just say no. Food is average at best. Staff roll up dirty pool towels for the next arrival which is not acceptable. I have stayed in many marriott hotels and this one needs a wake up call on how to treat international guests.
