Close to metro, Comfortable Rooms, Away from City Center

    rating14 Oct 2024

It's around an hour, by metro, from BeiJing center. Metro station is right outside the hotel. Rooms are typical holiday inn rooms, comfortable enough. Breakfast with only Chinese selections. The hotel staff doesn't speak English!!!! Swimming pool closed. Right next to a nice mall. Price a bit higher than the average prices in Beijing.

Fantastic as long as your WeChat is connected to a valid Credit Card and can call cabs smoothly!

Superior double room was perfect for two friends. Plenty of space. Neat room, nice desk, clean, large bathroom, only good things to say. Laundry was easy. Breakfast was delicious. I lived the german espresso machine. And hot soy milk for breakfast was very comforting. We would love to stay here again. You should download a translator app to communicate with locals including hotel staff. Shopping mall connected to hotel (different entrance)!and has all kinds of good restaurants and cafes.

    Comfortable and Convenient

    rating25 Aug 2019

Location wise is rather close to the airport but quite far from the city central, however, the subway right in front of the hotel makes travelling easier. It is also located next to a local shopping mall where you can find western fast food restaurant and also Chinese restaurant. Seven eleven is also conveniently located next to the hotel.Check in process was really smooth and the staffs speak decent level of English. I was also given an upgrade simply because they want to fulfill my request for a king size bed (there was no more king size bedroom available when I made my booking).Room was good and comfortable, AC is cool and they have decent english channel selection. Shower in the rooms has a good pressure but just the standing position is a little awkward because they use a bathtub as a shower too and it makes you uncomfortable when you stand for a shower. Other facility that also need to be taken note is that I do not see where is the swimming pool as advertised in many hotel booking website.Breakfast in the hotel need to be improved a lot. Very poor western selection and even the chinese selection does not taste good. Chef at the live cooking section is an old lady so I cannot expect her to speak basic English right? This is also something that the hotel management need to consider.Overall this is a comfortable hotel with a decent room rate. I am definitely considering this hotel again for my next visit to Beijing. Work week in Beijing

    rating20 Apr 2019

The rooms was awful. The ac didn’t work any suddenly the temperature went up to 28 degrees. I Complain in the reception and the only thing they provided was a portable ac which didn’t cool down the room either. The only way was close down and keep the window open. Breakfast poor of choices. Samantha Q, IHG Social Listening Team at Holiday Inn Express Beijing Huacai by IHG, responded to this review Dear Anna-Kaarina K,Thanks for staying with us. Falls very short of the IHG brand

    rating15 Oct 2018

Like so many hotels in Beijing that carry International Group Branding, they just don’t get it or simply don’t care that the quality of the room is only half of the story and is not the only reason someone chooses to stay at IHG hotels. It seems that the owners are only interested in saying they’re a global brand and nothing else. The Holiday Inn Express Huacai has nice, spacious and comfortable rooms but that is where it all stops. The IHG brand is supposed to stand for good customer service, smiles, quality in all areas and above all, superior customer service. It seems that today only the Marriott group of hotels has managed to achieve that lofty goal around the world.Customer Service does not exist at the Holiday Inn Express Huacai. Everyone has a sour look on their face, they never smile, seem to look at foreigners as bothersome and they do not know their product. When I requested an IHG membership brochure they had no clue what I was talking about. I had to search their front desk counter and show them the membership brochures. However, I did manage to find a bright lite and smiling face in all of this and that was Charlie, the F&B manager. I had a small issue one day and Charlie did everything in his power to make a customer, me, happy. My commendation to Charlie and please let him know how pleased I was to meet him. Use him as an example for the rest of your employees. My suggestions, 1. Always strive to have at least one staff member on duty at the front desk that speaks good english. During my stay no one really spoke English except for Charlie the F&B manager. Again, Charlie seems to understand the IHG brand concept.2. Train all employees to smile.3. Train all staff on how to solve issues.4. Have a staff member who is assigned to perform quality control and make sure all employees follow the IHG brand standard.5. If you cannot do 1 through 4 above, then I suggest that IHG corporate take away the IHG brand name from your hotel. Hotels which behave like yours damage the brand.Regards,A very disappointed customer Samantha Q, IHG Social Listening Team at Holiday Inn Express Beijing Huacai by IHG, responded to this review Dear Jim S,Thanks for choosing to stay with us. We appreciate your comments and are delighted to receive your praise regarding hotel's the F&B manager Charlie.Your feedback regarding staff's smiles service and superior customer service is important to us and has been shared with our management team so that we can make necessary actions.Hope you can choose to stay with us again. We welcome your next arrival with us.Sincerely,IHG Social Listening Team
