Location

This hotel is located in the west of Beijing at the heart of the financial and technological district and within close proximity to some of China's most magnificent historical sites. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel guests will find links to public transport and a disco. Shopping facilities are 2 km away, as are the Beijing Zoo and aquarium. It lies only 30 minutes from the Capital Airport.

Facility

670 rooms are available to guests in a 24-storey main building and a 17-storey auxiliary building. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities and a lift. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car (for a fee). Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A turndown service provides guests with additional comfort in the evening hours. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Going for a swim at the pool complex, which includes indoor and outdoor areas, is a great way to relax. Sun loungers are ready and waiting on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking, tennis and golf are available. Sports enthusiasts are also offered a wide range of indoor activities, including a gym, billiards, yoga and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a steam bath, hydrotherapy treatments and a solarium and, for an additional fee, a sauna and massage treatments. A dance club offers fun and entertainment.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant with air conditioning, a breakfast room and a bar. Catering options include half board and full board. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options. The hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Excellent Stay at the Shangri-la Hotel Beijing . Our recent stay at the Shangri-la Hotel Beijing affirmed our earlier stays in this same hotel as a very pleasant stay, excellent service and care for details and needs of guests. This made the difference. While the hotel is no longer as young as before, it makes up the difference by having an excellent staff, good operational management, cosy environment and away from the noisy bustle of downtown location . It's proximity to two very important sights -- The Summer Palace, and the Great Wall at Mutianyu makes the Shangri-la Hotel Beijing an excellent location.     I spent 6 nights at the Shangri-La. I have nothing but compliments for the the staff and the hotel. From the time I arrived, my experience was positive. Beautiful and spotless facility, efficient and helpful staff, excellent bar and a la carte menu options, beautiful guest room - it was a complete experience. I loved the garden. And the location was ideal for the sightseeing I did in Beijing. Everything was within about 30 minutes using the DiDi ride app.I treated myself to Peking Duck at the Shang Palace Cantonese restaurant onsite, and that was excellent. BTW, the breakfast buffet is excellent. I mistakenly didn't include it in my reservation, and I quickly upgraded when I realized there were no other appealing breakfast options locally.     The hotel itself was lovely if a bit dated! Staff were nice and helpful. Unfortunately the room smelt strongly of cigarettes even though it was meant to be non smoking! Internet was a problem as we couldn’t connect often and it is absolutely necessary in Beijing. Breakfast was great huge buffet choice.

    Stay couple times at the hotel. Very warm welcome from the staff since arrival. Room was spacious and clean although a bit old furniture. Breakfast buffet spread was great a lot of choices and egg tart is not to be missed. Huge thanks to staff name Daisy Wong who helped me to secure the booking even the it was fully booked. And special thanks to all the staff at the concierge who helped me with my parcel. Will recommend others to stay at this hotel due to their great hospitality.
