    Fantastic deal for stopover

    rating04 Sept 2015

On route to Berlin, we had a 1 night stopover. The hotel provided transport promptly or the 2 of us with 4 luggages. The van was a but of a bone shaker but eh driver was polite and helpful. The hotel had some kind of marine theme. The check in was a breeze and the receptionists were cheerful and responsive. The room was large and slightly dated but reasonably clean. There was coffee and tea facilities. As it was quite late, we were delighted that there was a restaurant in house. A good set dinner was available at 58 RMB per pax.The hotel is located not far from the airport, about 20 minutes drive. It is a short walk to the subway and nearby are some shops, a supermarket and restaurants. Otherwise, the area look like a logistic area in support of the capital's airport.Wifi is fast enough and the breakfast was decent too. The complimentary transport to the airport the next is just as good. Now comes the surprise, all these for 178RMB. My colleague simply cannot believe it!

    Stay Away!

    rating27 Feb 2010

My wife and I booked into this place via Ctrip on a whim as there were no reviews on this place only a description and a few photos of one of the suites which turned out to be the only suite available named ironically the VIP room. We were attracted by the facilities of the bathroom suite which featured a jacuzzi bath, massage shower and private sauna, all of which were not functioning properly. Both the bath and the shower delivered dirty brown water containing mud and was therefore not able to clean ourselves with but also smelt terrible too. When asked why this was the case, we were told that the room hadn't been used for months and there were no other suites to transfer too only standard rooms with single beds. Having arrived at the hotel with tired and worn feet i wanted to avail of their pedicure services and was told that this was available anytime by the staff at check in., but when it came to getting this done we were told that the man who does it had gone home for the night only to find him in the relaxation room shortly after. When he finally managed to get around to doing my feet he accidentally cut my foot with his tools quite deeply which later got infected, i just hope that the tools he was using were sterilised, but there was no way of really knowing. When we asked to speak to the manager there was none and was told we could speak to him in person the next morning, which turned out to be a lie. All of our complaints to the reception and supervisors at the time we found were only met with laughs as if they found the whole thing funny. No discount was offered on our room when checking out for our unpleasant stay, we definitely will never be back. We visit Beijing at least every year and was really hoping to stumble across an undiscovered gem but this turned out to be an undiscovered hell hole. My suggestion is if needing a hotel near the airport then go to the Beijing Aulympic Airport Hotel which we stayed in last year-good value for money.
