  Breathtaking Views and Warm Service, but Some Details Miss the Mark

  Our stay at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Chongqing offered some lovely highlights, especially the views, but also left room for a few improvements in service consistency and upkeep.We stayed in a high-floor room with a breathtaking view of the Yangtze River. The room was spacious and clean, offering a comfortable environment to relax in. As Radisson Rewards members, we received an upgrade in line with our status and were warmly greeted by the manager on duty upon arrival - a nice and personal touch that we appreciated. The breakfast buffet featured a diverse spread, including both local and international dishes, offering a good start to the day.While the room was pleasant, it has clearly seen better days and would benefit from some minor refurbishments to match the hotel’s otherwise solid standard. Although we hold VIP tier status, the upgrade provided was only to the next category, which felt a bit underwhelming considering the brand's loyalty benefits. Some breakfast items were not replenished as they ran out, and about 30 minutes before the official end time, much of the buffet was already empty - something that should be better managed in a hotel of this caliber.Despite a few service inconsistencies, we enjoyed our stay - especially the incredible river views.   All about the view

  Great location, just off Nanbin Road overlooking the mighty Yangtze River.For a five star hotel, the level of English spoken or at least understood is quite low.This caused a misunderstanding during check-in as my room was booked under my husband's name not my own. We were lucky enough to be allocated a corner room which affords you two great views of the CQ skyline and the river.The rooms are decorated in brown tones which gives the feeling of an old hotel which is kinda of a shame, but they are very spacious and comfy. The bathroom is particularly good with a bathtub next to the window, plus rainfall shower. However the hotel do not supply any requisites for the bath which makes it rather superfluous.Breakfast was standard buffet style with plenty of choice, particularly of the Chinese variety. Most of it was at best tepid.   I hadn't stayed at a Radisson hotel for many years and this one was a very pleasant experience. Flawless hotel with beautiful and functional rooms at a very good rate. Would definitely recommend. One downside was the breakfast and lunch buffets that are very basic at least for western items.   Not very comfortableHotel lobby fill with smoking smell and the room are too dim.Room facing with good night scenery lighting.Surrounded by rowdy and smokers environment.Location is far from city and eating place but near to airport.   Very nice hotel at a location that is both great and awkward at the same time

  I spent a week at this hotel while attending meetings at the same hotel. The hotel was excellent, the room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and breakfast and lunch were delicious. The location was the only thing that left me scratching my head. Of course, it was very convenient to stay at the same hotel where the meetings were. However, going anywhere meant either taking a taxi or hiking up a very steep hill. When returning to the hotel, hiking down the hill was the only option, as I couldn't figure out any way to persuade a taxi driver to take me to the hotel! Even the ones that stopped for me, once they learned where I wanted to go, downright refused to drive me there, and I still haven't figured out why!
