  Service is OK, breakfast is OK, rooms are OK. Definitely not a 5-star hotel as the website said that I booked it through. The rooms are tired and worn, the marble shower is covered with adhesive wallpaper, presumably to make it easier to clean? The wallpaper is peeling in the corners of the room. The staff is friendly, the price was right, but don't be fooled, this is not a 5 star hotel, or even a 4 star.

  Good service in a convenient location

  Good business hotel in a convenient location with a shopping mall just across the road. Front desk service was good, standard room that we booked was not ready and they upgraded me to a Executive room without any hesitation. Breakfast is no frills with standard local and western spread.

  Rooms are good and comfortable. Restaurant food was OK. Need staff at the reception that can speak english. Very close to the city centre and easy access to any part of Guangzhou. Slightly overpriced for the amenities.

  I visited the hotel for business at the end of November. As per the title of my review, it was adequate. The rooms were large and comfortable with all the extra amenities. Bathrooms were nice. Nothing special about the decor, but they were nice and clean. The staff were not helpful and not very friendly. Wifi throughout the hotel was really good. I did look at the gym facilities which looked quite old and the gym has carpet which is stained, but the range of equipment is good. I did not use the facilities. Pool area looked really nice but I did not have time to use it. There is no longer a spa at the hotel which was disappointing as I had wanted to book. The breakfast buffet selection was fairly good, but trying to get a waiter for tea and coffee is difficult. There are some really nice restaurants within walking distance, and I did manage to find a small spa that offers basic spa treatments within walking distance. Overall the stay was comfortable enough for a short business trip.

  A place to avoid

  The hotel is in good location, close to several universities and shopping area. It has an impressive lobby. However the service is slow and bad. The original room was a smoking room (even after the nonsmoking requests). The smell was so bad that even the house cleaning lady was shocked. Had to change a room to a nonsmoking floor (yes indeed there is a nonsmoking floor). The food was terrible. Overall, avoid this place.
