We picked this hotel because the beauty of the of the hotel looked very awesome, plus it included free breakfast and laundry facilities. The bundle price of our package was reduced because we picked this hotel. And the location. But upon arrival we got to our room. The room is very warm and the air conditioning did not seem to be working. We had to open the windows to cool down the room. Then we went to explore the hotel to find where all the amenities were like an ice machine and the laundry facilities. Upon our exploring, we had found out that there was no ice machines, and there was no laundry facilities. We went to the front desk and asked the questions where was the laundry facilities that they advertised on their website during our booking of our reservations. They replied and stated that there was no longer facilities, but they do have laundry service dry, cleaning service all for a fee. The fees were outrageous because it was per item and there was two of us so that would be a change of clothes every day and we were staying for 22 days. This was unsatisfactory to our needs. They said they would refund our money back through Expedia and allow us to check out. But the managers attitude towards us was very negative and she was telling us we needed to go upstairs and pack as fast as possible and get out. And then she said that we had to pay ¥100 before we leave.

Welcoming, Helpful and Friendly Staff and a Reasonable Room
19 Jun 2022
Upon arriving at the hotel I was surprised with how smoothly they made the check in and handled all my questions, especially in light of the fact that we have just come out of a covid lockdown and in many places foreign travellers are seen as a bit of a difficulty, but not here! I was always made to feel very welcome. Most of the staff I met spoke at least a little English and some a lot! I stayed 3 times over successive weekends in June 2022 and twice got an upgrade. The room is kind of standard and some may say a little old but its clean and the shower is powerful and all the plumbing works well. Some little exras like fruit, beers and even a handwritten welcome letter were supplied. The breakfast I found to be good if basic but nearby there were also many other options so I didn't have the breakfast every time. The bar wasn't to expensive either. The location is also pretty good with easy links to some nice beaches, an entertaining night life and the tourist spots all in easy reach. I look forward to staying there again even though I have been told there are better otions I don't think they would beat this place for friendly service.

On all fronts, where else would you stay?

I only came to book this hotel by chance. From the moment the young counter staff Mr. Song checked us in with a breeze, we were contented to find the room on 18th floor our ideal home in the next few days, followed by the well appointed facililities such as free wi-fi (automatic), coffee-making machine, washroom, bedding, tv, couch and everything else. After a comfortable sleep in the night, we enjoyed the buffet breakfast on 2nd floor Cafe serving quite a variety of tasty and thoughtful local and Western dishes in a spacious hall filled with non-stopped light music. When we headed out to tour around, we found the C Entrance of the Kaoxiang Road Metro Station was right next to the hotel compound, while bus stops were also nearby along the Hong Kong Middle Road in junction with Taiwan Road. To be fair, the hotel deserves to carry its name brand Regency in Hong Kong!

Decent hotel, walking distance to subway

This is not a luxury hotel. It provides good, clean, convenient accommodations. The rooms are comfortable. Staff was friendly and was always kind to my inquiring 7 year. If you are looking for a true 5 star hotel, this isn't your place. Yes, rooms are a little outdated, but after a long day of sightseeing, my family wants a clean, comfortable room with a good shower. Also, the restaurant in the basement serves good food.

THE MOST APPALLING HOTEL I HAVE BEEN TO
12 Jul 2018
This hotel has to be the worst hotel I have ever been to. The service was so-so but the whole aesthetics and presentation and quality of furniture were so dull. There is nothing grand about this hotel. The hotel should be sued for misrepresentation.I was amazed to see 1960s style furniture, upon reading the guest manual in the room, I read, some clients prefer traditional and old style architecture, seriously?? I must say no one wants to see carpet which hasnt been replaced since 1920, gym equipment which hasnt been maintained since 1990. The hotel boasts of diplomats and head of state living there, well since the inaugural of the hotel in 1999, no one has stayed there in recent times. The swimming pool was pathetic and the gyms equipment was rusty and extremely in need of replacement. Only positive was the japanese style toilet seat in the bathroom. Tennis court was broken and requires a lot of care and attention. Most of the hotel is simply a big building which is more of a ghost town. I would simply urge all travelers to please avoid this horrible hotel.
