    Very good hotel in the centre of Shanghai, minor issue with the staffs’ attitude

    I have stayed at this hotel few times whenever I come to Shanghai for business. Spacious room with nice view. Excellent amenities and services especially you can fine the FINANCIAL TIMES newspaper to read here which is very rare in China. Breakfast has limited choices but good enough. The only issue I see is the staffs’ attitudes sometimes I felt quite aggressive. Thus, I could only give them 4 on 5 scale. In general, a nice place to stay in Shanghai.

    Stayed in Legendale at the start of the trip in Beijing and had the time of our lives. Even though the food was just so so, the rest made up for it. The moment we stepped into this place it all just went down the hill consistently. Airport pickup - out of a sudden a 10 day in advance matter. So proclaimed sauna is the most mysterious thing we have encountered in a while - only for men. Are we in Japanese onsen or public baths in Afganistan? We paid for these services we cannot use, neither can find restrictions on prior the payment and reservation. Sauna is an absolute joke. Barely fits two people on a bench and is 2/3 cold draft coming thru. Had a haircut, the hairdresser did not use a single spray/cream/oil apart from the spray bottle filled with water. Have you guys heard of different hair types and hair products? Should not be allowed to operate a hairdressing saloon. Pretty awful end of our trip. Nothing impressive to add. Breakfast was alright, a few options to choose from

    Excellent location just off the bustling Nanjing Rd and close to the Bund. We had a spacious superior room - equipped with tea-coffee etc. There is a reasonable breakfast with limited but sufficient western items. We made the mistake of eating dinner at their restaurant one night and were surprised at the ungracious service there. The checkout also left a bad taste - they insisted we pay for a packet of peanuts which we had not opened. It was only 20 yuan so after some principled resistance we paid. But service is the reason I would rate it as Average.

    Conveniently located hotel in Shanghai.

    This hotel is located right next for the Nanjing Road. You can take the metro Line 2 right from Pudong Airport to the Nanjing East Station (60 min) and use exit 4 to walk 5 min to the hotel. Or you can take Line 10 from Pudong Airport to the same station (40 min). The hotel is well maintained and clean. The buffet breakfast is average but the staff are very friendly.

    This was our final Hotel on a whistle stop tour of China. All Hotels we stayed at were excellent and this was no different. Everything one could need in an Hotel. Free bottled water, tea and coffee facilities, toilet requisite, fresh towels daily - everything! Highly recommended.
