Location

The hotel situated within the Lu Jia Zui Financial and Trade Zone district. Local attractions, including the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Aquarium, the Super Grand Mall, the Jin Mao Tower and the Financial Tower, are all within walking distance and only 15 minutes from the hotel property is the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC).

Facility

The hotel has a lift and features 686 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas.     We stayed in this hotel on 3-5 May and I felt obliged to leave a review here . We were so glad that your front desk assisted us with early check in so that we could have more time exploring the city after lunch . Room 1319 was assigned and decorated so beautifully as we were celebrating our anniversary. The size of the room was huge and the view left us speechless . I was not sure if there’s other room which is more beautiful but seriously I wish to come back as soon as I can . There’s was a surprise cake when we came back from our day trip so sweet and indeed so memorable staying with your hotel . I will not hesitate or recommend others to stay here . The service from hotel front desk , restaurant, housekeeping and concierge were top notch . Thank you for making our stay so happy . Kudos to the management for taking pride delivery such lovely and professional staffs .     Upon checking in at 2pm we were told that if we wanted a room immediately we would have to pay extra for the next category. Never met this practice at a quality hotel. If you welcome guest and the room is not ready the right way is to complementary offer next level. Apparently this is not a quality hotel. No luggage help at the door but instead the bellboy was staring at me dragging suitcase and bags. In the room is so much collateral looks likes a Turkish bazar tour desk.     I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Katherine and the entire Lady in Red team at Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai.Their personalized service truly stood out—attentive, thoughtful, and delivered with genuine care. A special thank you for handling the air conditioning issue with such professionalism and efficiency. The team acted promptly and ensured a smooth resolution, which made a significant difference to my stay.Overall, the experience was top-notch, reflecting the high standards of the brand.That said, there is an opportunity for improvement within Housekeeping. The cleanliness standards and consistency of service should be enhanced. Turn-down service varied from day to day, and amenities were not always fully replenished, which fell short of expectations for a hotel of this caliber.I look forward to returning and hope to see these areas refined, as the service excellence from the front-of-house team is truly commendable.
