    I liked my stay here. The room and bathroom were spacious. My rooms window wouldn’t close all the way so I heard the freeway and cars. Not a deal breaker. The breakfast buffet was great with lots of options. The hotel is right next to a 7-11. The staff were great and offered late check out. They have self service laundry as well. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was far from the nearest subway station.

    The hotel is nicely located. It's about 5 minutes walk to a subway station and a large shopping mall. The subway station take you to the city center on the west of the river in about 30 minutes. The shopping mall provides a wide selection of eateries and is a lot of fun. The room is very well designed, everything within easy reach. It's missing a small fridge, which is expected for this class of hotels. The breakfast buffet spread is adequate. The coffee is surprisingly good.The brown-sugar ginger tea would be a nice surprise for the cold winter days. However, it often ran out fast and was a little lukewarm by late afternoon.     Do not have high hopes

    Holiday inn Express is the budget hotel i guess. The Hotel building is tall but the hotel is old. The rooms are clean but old and needs renovation. the hotel is 6-7 mins walking distance from the Jinqiao road metro station. In the opposite side of the jinqiao road metro station you will find 2 mall which has a lot of place to eat and drink , expect for this area the area around the hotel is quite empty during the night . The Wifi is very slow and during our stay some time in was not working properly . The lady at the reception could not speak English but there was no problem in the check in process. The breakfast spread is ok not that big or anything , but very few options for vegetarians . We where there for an expo so used to only come to sleep in the room. But if you want to stay will not recommend this hotel as its very basic. If you are traveling on a budget then this is a good hotel for you .     Do not expect too much to avoid disappointment

    Ok with Holiday Inn Express you are at the lower end, but besides the room, you may expect a bit of efficiency. So don’tIt was way past midnight when I checked in. The lady at the reception could not speak English. But I can accept that, as my credit card and passport details are more important. It took ages to get the formalities done. Heading to my room and looking forward to get my rest. To my big surprise, my room was already occupied by another guest who was sound asleep. How can this happen ????In the way down to the reception. But there was another guest, having the same problem, getting through the inefficiency of the check in. He was so kind to let me get serviced in between....Rooms were ok.     If attending an exhibition at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre and on a budget this hotel is OK. As far as holiday Inn Expresses go it has the best breakfast selection. Taxis can be hard to get at peak times and you need a Chinese friend if you use the local taxi app. Quiet sleep but ask for a room facing the canal not the elevated road.
