    We stayed for three nights in Shanghai at the end of our trip to China. We were upgraded to a lovely room on the 10th floor. Amazing view, so we were very pleased. Comfy bed and lovely bathroom. For a city hotel it was very spacious. The breakfast was very good. Nice selection and extra hot dishes to order. We ate in the Char restaurant and used the bar in the evening. Pricey drinks, but expected in a 5* hotel. One of the best hotels on our trip. Would definitely recommend.

    Booked thru travel agent in UK as part of China tour.Top location on the south end of BUND. Good hotel & room with a view. Electronics everywhere - toilet seat opens as you enter😬. fab roof top bar - cocktails don’t match the view. Expensive restaurant - overpriced.Unhelpful reception staff - often clueless. Wasn’t interested in us at all.Took money as “deposit” for holding - and yet charged the card immediately.NO concierge desk - forget travel or ANY advice. IF this was my choice - NO CHANCE!

    Hotel was well located and easy to walk into the main town. We had a double aspect room which overlooked the bund so got to see the lights easily in the evening and our room was bright and spacious.The rooftop bar was disappointing, not only was it very dark, it was expensive and the service was poor. There are better ones to go to in the city. Overall, it was a very pleasant stayOverall,

    Had a comfortable 5 night stay. The hotel has amazing views of the bund and we were in a river view room with stunning views of the pearl oriental tower and Shanghai tower.The rooms are comfortable without being spectacular. Designed in the same style as other indigos showcasing local flare. However I found the room to be poorly maintained as some of the power sockets were beginning to come loose and our toilet seat (electric toilet) seems to be broken as the lift button didn't work. The room was still of a decent size and very clean.The hotel also has a good size indoor pool though it was a bit too cold to swim during our trip as well as a fantastic gym with sweeping views of the river. Good equipment and reasonably heavy weights for a hotel gym. Was open 24 hrs but I did find out strange that the bar bell is taken away during unmanned hours and put back the next morning.The breakfast was probably the most disappointing part. Doesn't show case the culinary sights of Shanghai and perhaps the only redeeming feature was the wonton and noodle station.Location wise, beautiful views however there wasn't a metro station nearby which meant lots of walking. Taxis are affordable so not a deal breaker.

    I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel due to a lack of clarity and communication from the reception staff regarding the payment process. Upon check-in, the receptionist made a serious mistake by not explaining the charges in advance. She simply handed me the card machine and charged the full amount to my bank card—including the room rate and a deposit—without any prior explanation or providing a receipt.When I raised the issue to her supervisor in the front desk, the staff informed me that the general manager refused to resolve the matter by refunding the incorrect deduction in cash. This response is completely unacceptable and reflects very poor service.As a foreign guest, I felt unwelcome and unfairly treated. I’ve been cheated. I will be sharing my experience on social media to raise awareness and warn others.
