Location

The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of the Lujiazui, Shanghai's new financial and business district. Within walking distance guests can find various shopping centres and the metro station Shi Ji. There are restaurants a 5-minute walk away on Zhang Yang Road, the bus station is 200 m away in Dong Fang Road and Shanghai railway station is a 20-minute drive from the hotel, as is People's Square. It is a 10-minute drive to the Bund and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, and 2 hours' drive to Hangzhou.

Facility

398 rooms, including 18 junior suites, 24 suites, 235 single rooms and 120 double rooms, are located on 24 storeys and can be reached by 5 lifts. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Cyclists can make use of the bicycle storage area and hire service (for a fee). Complimentary newspapers are available. A business centre with fax machine and projector is available. Lectures, presentations and meetings can be held in one of the 16 conference rooms.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. There is also an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. A shower and a bathtub are included the bathrooms. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

There are indoor and outdoor pools and a children's swimming area. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking, tennis and golf are available. Sports enthusiasts are also offered a wide range of indoor activities, including a gym, billiards, yoga and aerobics. Various wellness options are available at the hotel, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Meals

Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Guests can dine in 4 restaurants, which have air conditioning and high chairs as well as smoking and non-smoking areas. For breakfast (continental), lunch, and dinner, guests serve themselves at the buffet or choose their favourite dishes from the à la carte options (for lunch and dinner). Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    This past few days I have been staying at the Hotel Intercontinental Shanghai Pudong on business. The room was incredibly comfortable and had a large soft bed. The amenities in the room were good including a nespresso machine. I utilized the executive lounge and was helped by three wonderful staff in the morning - Anne, Annie, and Yvonne. The breakfast was quite expansive at the lounge.     I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and wanted to share my appreciation for the team. The property is exceptionally clean, and the overall service is both professional and excellent.I would like to give a special mention to the Concierge team, who went above and beyond to support me in recovering a lost item. Their efficiency and helpfulness made a stressful situation much easier.Additionally, I want to recognize Vivi from the housekeeping team. She did a fantastic job cleaning my room and demonstrated a wonderful attitude.     Premium club room comes with lots of perks

    Highly recommend the Premium room with club lounge access, it provides great value for money if you have enough time to try the:- afternoon tea (2-4pm) includes tea/coffee and small sandwiches, cream cakes- early evening buffet and drinks (5.30-8pm) includes an excellent selection of food and as much alcohol as you can drink!- free drinks voucher at the hotel barYou pretty much don’t need to leave the hotel! The room was comfy and had all the amenities you could need. However it is showing its age and there were a few issues including the blind not closing properly; but the hotel fixed this quickly. The other issue was the bathroom door not closing properly and making an awful sound. If you’re afraid of heights then I’d recommend you don’t walk in the atrium as it will cause vertigo.A brilliant option for Shanghai, the metro is a 5-10 minute walk away (closest exit is #12).Breakfast is a delicious affair with plenty of choice and free ingredients used throughout. Thanks to Annie, Anne and Yvonne who are helpful, patient and lovely throughout our stay.     Truly World-Class Hospitality That Feels Like Home

    Although the hotel has been in operation for many years, its facilities continue to be exceptionally well maintained and professionally managed. What truly stands out, however, is the outstanding service at every level—professional, thoughtful, sincere, and genuinely welcoming. The hotel truly delivers a “home away from home” experience.The attention to detail is remarkable. For example, in the restaurant on the first floor, staff cleaned tables meticulously, repeatedly checking carefully rather than rushing through the task. The hosts and hostesses greeted guests promptly and courteously, while both managers and service staff remained highly attentive to guests’ needs and behaviors, proactively offering assistance in a warm and natural manner. Even small gestures—such as staff thoughtfully handing over a soup spoon after noticing a guest’s needs—were done gracefully without interrupting the dining atmosphere. Special thanks to Mr. Dan.Housekeeping service was equally warm and professional. Staff were attentive without being intrusive—for instance, quickly stepping in to help open doors or carry items when guests’ hands were full. Room cleaning was polite, efficient, and spotless. Special thanks to Ms. Vivi and Ms. Ella on the 17th floor.The Executive Lounge is truly among the finest experiences in any luxury hotel, both in atmosphere and service. The etiquette feels genuine rather than scripted, while the service remains professional, attentive, and exceptionally warm, making guests feel truly valued and respected. This is also one of the main reasons I continue to return for repeat stays.
