    Trip type: Business

    Good location and good value

    rating07 Nov 2018

I stayed for 3 nights after a business trip in other parts of China. Not a fancy hotel but good value. Rooms are small but very nice inside. The location is great. You can walk to the Bund in 2 minutes, and the subway lines 2 and 10 are a short walk. Lots of shops and small restaurants are a 1 minute walk. Most importantly the air conditioning actually works. I stayed in much more expensive hotels in China and the A/C did not work. There are USB charging plugs at both night tables by the bed. The shower is nice. The staff did not speak English, I think this hotel mostly deals with Japanese visitors, but google translate will solve that. Note, the only google app that works in china is google translate, and it is very helpful.I would stay at this hotel again.

Convenient location at the edge of pedestrian mall

The closest subway is East Nanjing Road (Green Line 2), exit 3. The access is mostly by escalator, with some stairs in between. There is an elevator access, but it is further away, closer to exits 6 & 7. When you exit 3, turn right and you will see the Apple shop. Turn right again and at the road, turn right and cross left at the traffic light, walk a few meters and the hotel will be on your left. If you exit Left out of exit 3, you will pass trash bins, turn left past the building and cross the road at the traffic light and after a few meters, the hotel will be on your left. The subway 2 (green) line leads you straight to the airports on either end.Situated close to Nanjing Road Pedestrain street, taxis can still access the hotel and wait by the kerb. The hotel is new and right now, clean. However, the colour scheme - beige - isn't going to last long, and indeed, signs of dirt are already showing up on the carpets. The room itself, however, doesn't have carpets. The room is small and if you have two occupants, I would say it is tight. Since there isn't an actual place for luggage. I had to place my bag on the couch. Even if you get a window to your room, there isn't much of a view. There is a small lift, but I believe there is one floor it doesn't access. There is a sort of business centre in the lobby but I didn't use it.There is an electric kettle, tea, coffee and water. Towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb and slippers are provided. There is no distinction between bath gel and shampoo and it is in a dispenser in the shower area. When you first enter, you will see the sink on one side and the bathroom on the other side. It is a rather utilitarian setup. There are USB ports on each side of the bed with electrical plugs, lights etc. I find the lighting adequate for the room. There is a large TV in the room, but only Mandarin channels. If you stay here, you will need to speak in at least rudimentary Chinese. but a translation app can really help a lot.I had an especially early flight and they accommodated my early check in.The Bund is also within walking distance. As I stayed here only for 3 nights for a quick stopover, it was sufficient and good to get around.I would recommend it, especially if you are a first time visitor. It is functional, the design is modern, and it tries to have some niceties.
