  Comfortable and Well-Located

  My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in late March, ‘26. We wanted a comfortable and well-located place to stay in Baranquilla fo a couple of nights before boarding a river cruise on the Magdelena. The Faranda was a very good choice, and we recommend it. The hotel is located in a quiet upscale neighborhood that seemed very safe.. W arrived by Uber/Taxi from the airport, which was fairly easy and inexpensive to arrrange. There isn’t much to see in the area afound the hotel other than some rther impressive old mansions, but there are several good restaurants nearby, including a highly-rated upscale Italian restaurant right next door, We didn’t eat there, but we had excellent meals at Palo de Mango and Manuel’s (try the Beet Carpaccio – yes, beeT), both a short Uber ride from the hotel.Our room (903) was large, comfortable, and attractively decorated. There was a small desk, a rocking chair, and a comfortable king -sized bed. There was a small balcony but we could not get the door open so we only enjoyed the view from inside the room. The design of the room was interesting, with the open vanity on the other side of a large circular mirror from the bed. The shower and toilet were in a separate enclosed room. There were two handy night stands by the be with charging outlets, The bathroom amenities very very nice, but oddly there was no facial issue. Breakfast was served in a pleasant roof-top restaurant adjacent to the bar and pool area, It was buffet-style and very good.The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, for example they helped us retrieve a cell phone we left in one of our Uber rides. Their English was limited but certainly better than our Spanish. We managed to communicate well enough.We recommend the Faranda for a stay in Baranquilla and we’d definitely stay here again ourselves.

  I just came back from a 4-night stay at the Faranda Collection Barranquilla, a member of Radisson Individuals and I have to say I really loved my stay. This hotel is a diamond in the rough. My wife had a family reunion in Barranquilla this past weekend and we chose to stay here. Centrally located in the safe Prado district (clean, an active church and residences close by) not once did I feel unsafe, we walked around outside freely. The staff at this hotel are very friendly and very helpful. Any service asked for was quickly expedited within minutes. Everything worked just as I hoped at this hotel. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, the showers were warm/hot as needed (in Barranquilla this is a luxury). Just blocks from the riverfront and restaurants close by. Breakfast included and pool view from the 10th floor may be the best in Barranquilla. I could go on and on about what a good choice I made. I even watched a YouTube video regarding this hotel before arrival which featured the Gerente General, Ivette Ortiz Benedeti (General Manager in English), I literally saw her everyday either at breakfast giving a morning welcome, or in the hall or at reception desk. I wanted to meet/tell her she was doing a great job, but I do not speak Spanish and did not want to embarrass myself. Do yourself a favor and stay here on your next trip to Barranquilla in the Prado district.
