Stayed twice because of a deal. Nice decor, nice location but I never get a room like the ones in the photos. Always small rooms when I stayed. Breakfast is average. I will try a different hotel in Bogota next time.

Colonial Style Hotel Surpassed Expectations

3 nights at this charming hotel. I highly recommend it for these reasons. First, the location is perfect. It’s right in the middle of the historic area making it easy to walk everywhere. Second, the staff is friendly and helpful. Third, this is a beautiful colonial style hotel. Not a chain. The decor is wonderful. And, it’s spotlessly clean. Lastly, the complimentary breakfast with made to order omelets and a wide assortment of pastries and fruits is as good as you will find. Avoid if you have allergies

Spent the weekend there last week. The staff were very friendly and the location in La Candelaria is good. The breakfast was decent but the coffee was not (no excuse for that in Colombia). The level of cleaning was not up to scratch in the rooms or in the communal areas. We had mould in our bathroom, cobwebs in the bedroom and as somebody who suffers with dustmite and mould allergies, I spent the weekend sneezing and blowing my nose. Unbeatable location.

The location can’t be beat on a pedestrian street a block away from Plaza Bolivar. The breakfast was sensational, with an omelette bar, delicious Colombian fruit, pastries, and cereal. Also, there are a lot of lounges and areas to sit, including the pool, if you have time to enjoy them.The only thing was that I’d booked on the seventh floor for the view, but the windows were entirely covered on the outside in plastic, so there was no view. Also, the room was hot, and I was unable to adjust the thermostat, and since I was only staying one night, it wasn’t worth the time to ask the hotel staff to fix it. (assuming it could have been fixed).. I would definitely stay here again, but would address the room temperature and plastic window situation beforehand.
