I Was Attacked in the Hotel - TRAVELER WARNING

I was attacked in my room at this hotel. After the incident I emailed the head of security for the most basic thing a guest in that situation should be able to get: contact with, or accounts from, the staff members who were present so I could file a report in my home country. Two weeks later I received a dismissive, unhelpful reply refusing any assistance.That is the hotel’s actual response to a guest who was assaulted on the property: delay, then a flat no.A four-star hotel with 24-hour reception and a security department that will not even facilitate witness statements after an attack in a guest room is not a safe place to stay. If something happens to you here, do not assume management will document it, preserve accounts, or help you deal with authorities afterward. They closed the door.I am posting this so other travelers know the gap between the branding and what happens when you actually need the hotel. I am also posting it so the general manager has a public record of the refusal and can still choose to do the minimum: put me in touch with the staff who were there.Until that happens, I cannot recommend this property to anyone who might ever need the hotel to act like a responsible operator instead of a bystander. We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. There were two things I wish could have been different. One being there is no AC unit in the room. We slept with the window open and felt fairly well. The second being that there is no smart tv. My mom and I have a tradition where we stay up late and watch a new movie on our trips; we weren’t able to do that here.Otherwise, the service was AMAZING. Hospitality could not have been better, staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this hotel.
